Here's the recap (it wasn't on tv or radio today)
Score: Diamondbacks 6, Cubs 5.
Spring record: 7-6-1.
At the plate: Felix Pie batted leadoff, had a pair of hits and raised his average to .344, but the Cubs had only nine scattered hits off five Arizona pitchers.
On the mound: Relievers Ryan Dempster and Rocky Cherry both allowed their first runs of the spring. Cherry had gone 51/3 scoreless innings, Dempster three. Starter Wade Miller allowed two runs in four innings, including a home run on his first pitch.
In the field: Tomas Perez was guilty of the only Cubs error and Ronny Cedeno, playing shortstop, was involved in two double plays.
Worth noting: Buck Coats has reached base in seven straight games and raised his average to .433, keeping alive his hopes of making the roster.
Next up: Cubs have their only off day of the spring.
