Mark DeRosa has reached a contract agreement with the Cubs for 3yrs/$13mil. Not a bad signing. He's really only had one good year, but hopefully he will be able to build on it. I'm guessing Theriot is going to the bench. I kind of would have liked to see him get a chance, but it's okay. GO CUBS! :)

I agree. If DeRosa reverts back to form, we have Theriot. And vice versa. DeRosa can also play the OF and would think he would be a viable start in RF for Jones vs lefties. He could also spell ARam at 3B.

4+ per year is alot for a sub, but if he plays all over the place it isnt so bad. Its better than paying Neifi 2.5+ and Rusch 3+.

I will wait until Hendry has a quote as to saying exactly what the plan is for DeRosa before raising cane about Theriot not playing. He deserves to be on the roster and play regularly.

Hopefully he replaces Jones in left.

Am I the only one who thinks Jones is the most over rated half-wit the Cubs have ?? He is terrible at defence . His at bats stinks , strikes out on the high fast ball , and his base running is just horrible . I really really don't like this guy at all .
