So, any of you guys been to some other ballparks? 2 summers ago I went to Texas, and I saw a few games at Ameriquest Field where the Rangers play, and it was a really nice stadium. The ouside just looks really nice, and I really liked it. I also saw the Astro's Minute Maid Park, which was a pretty nice park too. I still think the centerfield is ridiculous. I also went to Yankee Stadium, but I was only 7, so I don't really remember it. Surprisingly I've never been to Cellular Field. I wanna go sometimes, because all the Sox fans I know always tell me how it's so much better then Wrigley, and I wanna see how much bull**** they're talking.

I haven't been to any other ballparks. I'm sure I will at some point though. My parents live in Texas and have been to the Rangers park and said it was really nice, and I have friends who have been to the Twins and White Sox parks that said they were cool that I will go with sometime here. That's one of the things I love about Wrigley though is the mystic and history of it. Baseball is losing that with all these new ballparks.

That park is on our agenda for next year.:)If you stay at the Pittsburgh Renaissance its just on the other side of the Roberto Clemente Bridge in center field. Literally an 8 minute walk from room to seat.

A couple of pics from our September 04 trip. The hotel is in the center with the arch in the middle of the first pic.

And yes, my wife was the one who worked so hard to get Nomar's auto :)

I was in Minneapolis for the 3 games we had with the Twins this summer.

The Metrodome is not to bad except it was a bit chilly in there and that turf they have looks like ****. The "Dome Dogs" were yummy though. If you ever go to The Metrodome make sure to grab one!!!!!:)

Since I live in Phoenix, most of the Cubs games I've seen have been played at Chase Field (formerly Bank One Ballpark). I really like it there and the retractable roof is really cool.

Last year I also saw the Cubs at Petco Park in San Diego. They played there after their two games in Phx. My brother is stationed in the Navy there, so he got us pretty decent seats. I was really impressed with Petco Park. When you're walking in, it has a very luxurious look and feel to it.

I'll try to get some good pics uploaded. Not quite as good as the Nomar and Prior ones, but close. I did get several autographs at Chase field between '05 and '06. Ryne Sandberg, Dusty Baker, Billy Williams and of course Aramis Ramirez!

My plan is to spend my next birthday attending a game at Wrigley Field for the FIRST TIME!!

The only parks I have ever been into is Wrigley, and The Cell (proudly wore my Sandberg jersey). I tried to get tickets for the Cubs/Brewers game. Missed my chance however. Rather sit in Wrigley where I know I am not the minority..lol.

Hey ARamFan,
You come up to Wrigley, I'll meet ya there and buy ya your 1st Chicago style hot dog and Old Style. I did that last year I took a guy from work he switched from the Royals to the Cubs in 2004 (go figure) but I took him to Wrigley for the 1st time ever, damn shame Cubs lost on a 1 hitter to the Dodgers.

Rather sit in Wrigley where I know I am not the minority..lol.That's why Pittsburgh is so nice...there were literally more Cubs fans than Pirates fans :D

Hey ChiCubs,

I might take you up on that offer. It would be good to see a game there with someone who knows Wrigley Field. I'll let you know, it would be in June.

I have been to the Cincy park and they have a nice set up there. If anyone ever visits this park I would recommend getting there a couple hours early and spending the extra money to walk through the reds Hall of Fame they have set up there. I really thought they did a nice job on it and it was well worth it.

ARam,
Okay sounds good. By June the ivy will be green, and beer will be cold and the Cubs record will be 58-2 haha

Miller Park, if you live anywhere near there is a great way to go see the cubs.. the tickets are cheaper, and you far and away out number the brew crew fans.. The fans are really nice, too. Alot of teams fans will bite your head off.. but they're all pretty cool to talk to..

We went to Cincy this year for a 3 game set. Nice ballpark Nice week long visit to cincy.

Were planning a trip up to Milwaukee this year.

I saw 4 games at the old riverfront stadium, back in the 70's. We went to see 2 games in Milwaukee last year. That is a nice place to see a game. go to TGI Fridays and sit above left field for batting practice. you can get in there earlier than the whole stadium opens. cold beer and batting practice.

Let's see... Besides Wrigley I've been to Fenway, Turner Field and Fulton County stadium, and AT and T park in SF. I'm going to opening day in Cinci this year to see Soriano's first Cub at bat.

Went to Cincinnati for opening day 2004. Went to San Francisco in August 2005 and saw the three game (Cubs lost two of three) series when Maddux won #300. Went to Yankee Stadium and saw the Cubs get swept in 2005. I think Cincy was the cleanest and best of the three. Yankee Stadium had the old time feel but it did not seem all that cozy. The PA announcer had been there for about 80 years and was difficult to listen to.

Now batting for the Yankees...Number 2...Derek Jeter...Shortstop...Number 2 - Their 7th inning stretch features 'Cotton Eye Joey' - whoever the heck that is.

I've been to a total of three big-league baseball games in my life: 1981 at what was then known as Royals Stadium (now Kauffman Stadium) for a game between the Twins and Royals; 1989 at the Metrodome between the Blue Jays and Twins when Kirby Puckett went 4-for-5 with four doubles; and 1993 at Wrigley for a game between the Reds and Cubs, which Vance Law tripled to left to drive in the game-tying run and later scored the winning run on a single, 2-1.

Oh! I forgot about that.. I went to Kauffman this year to see the Royals blow a 5 run lead in the 8th inning to lose the the bastard Yankees!

I've been to a few parks in my 32 years...

Shea- It's a dump. The Mets are currently building a new stadium and it's long overdue.

Yankee Stadium- Another dump, but at least it has some baseball history. Marginal neighborhood. Overly obnoxious fans.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards- It's personally my favorite stadium that I've been to. Every seat is good, the layout is nice, and it's a nice atmosphere. If you ever make it here, make sure to get Boogs BBQ.

Turner Field- Nice stadium. Fans are not too loyal.

Veterans Stadium- Closed and for a good reason. The place was terrible. By fan the worst fans I've ever encountered.

Fenway Park- Very small.

Tropicana Field- Very sterile feeling. In a bad neighborhood, and always empty (at least the times I've been there).

Tinker Field- Back when the Orlando Cubs played there.

Heading to Wrigley this summer for the first time and looking forward to it!

Congrats on your first trip to Wrigley. There is no other place like it. I am sure you will enjoy that one.

I have been to 2 other parks:
Old Milwaukee Stadium, I almost could reach out and touch Miller Park!
Old Busch Stadium, Cubs vs Cardinals, mid 90's!

Oh, yeah, I forgot about going to Old Busch in 1994 for a game between the Astros and Cardinals when Wild Thing was with Houston.

I almost forgot to mention old Busch stadium. One game I'd like to forget was when I was growing up I had to sit with 3 cardinal fans that road down with us, and see Pete Falcone shut us out 14-0. That was a long 2 hour drive home. one of my memerable games I saw was at old Milwaukee stadium. It was Eddie Murray's rookie season, opening day in Milwaukee. Jim Palmer pitchet a 1-hit 1-0 shutout. I was able to get most of the Orioles autographs on a baseball at their hotel. that ball was stolen from me by a kid I grew up with, in prison now, for good reasons.
