Seems solid to me. I think most of us here expected that to be the lineup.

I like seeing Murton in the 2 hole. That was really the only question in the lineup. Other than that we all pretty much knew who was starting and where. No surprises.

Wouldn't it be great if Alfonso hit a homer on the first pitch he saw?

That would be fantastico.

I hope Lou does not switch it around alot this year. I want to see this lineup for at least 120 games if not 130. I would say 162, but I know that it will be a little different when Blanco is in and when he decides to use Floyd.

I wouldn't doubt it. Great American Ballpark is very hitter-friendly, so leading off the season with a home run is not beyond the realm of possibilities.

I can't believe the regular season starts on sunday!:D Even if the Cubs didn't pick up Soriano and all the rest, I would still be pumped! I am so so so happy baseball is back! Lou sounds like the right guy for the job!

I like it too but I hope to see Theriot become our everyday 2B by mid-season.

From the suntimes.com:

Excellent, Murton #2, he's going to see alot of good pitches.

I'm assuming Harang with be the Reds starter.

Damn you had my hopes up......I was hoping Lou finally found out that Hill was unstoppable against the Reds last year.

I've been thinking about how lucky you are to be going! :) Hope you have a great time and can post some good pics. It must be hard to live in SC with no MLB team there. I go visit family there every summer (Myrtle Beach and Lexington) and they just don't get what's so great about baseball, much less the Cubbies!

Looks like a very solid lineup. Good luck Cubs fans. Hope you get it done this year.

21 year old Marlins fan here who has been spoiled.

The Reds have Adam Dunn batting 2nd. That's a little unique.
