View Full Version : Just saw the Cub highlights on COMCAST

It showed two dropped balls by Soriano and Floyd.They would have been great plays,both were sliding during the attempts.Were those the errors?If so,I dont agree.They could have been cought,but they were anything but routine plays.

Yes they were counted as errors, plus Floyd had a throwing error. He looks enimic out there tight now.

It's tough to call an error on a sliding play, unless you shold have gotten to the ball and the slide was unnecessary, therefore forcing the error...

It's tough to call an error on a sliding play, unless you shold have gotten to the ball and the slide was unnecessary, therefore forcing the error...Looked to me that without the slide,the ball hits the ground.They were catchable,but definitely not routine.They did have the ball in their gloves,so maybe thats why the errors.

Plays like that are always a tough call. Floyd is slow so maybe they thought he could have got there without a slide. Soriano though is learning the position, and has great speed, that should have been factored in.
