I know the kid is still young, but how much time should we give him? The more he plays, the more he is looking like C-Pat, which isn't a good thing. I'm not sure what we could get for him, but it doesn't seem like we are producing very much in the way of talented position players these days.

I'd trade Pie, Marshall, and Mateo for Vernon Wells, but that's me..:)

I'd do that in a heartbeat, gem. You think the Jays would go for it?

I really couldn't tell you. I do know they need pitching. Marshall and Mateo could entice them.

Jays would laugh at that offer. Marshall and Mateo our not even top 10 prospects in our system and our top 10 is weak compared to most other teams unfortunately. Pie is also losing value but is still a decent prospect he's not even top 20 in baseball America now and I bet the Blue Jays get offers on a daily basis for him lol. I hate to say that and it does sound sad, but it's the cold hard truth too many Cub fans not counting you guys but other ones think our C level/iffy talent can bring back studs and it just isn't realistic.

I think Pie is still too young to think about getting rid of him now. Give him a little while longer.

He isn't going to play CF. I think we would be dumb to trade Pie. he is wayyy too young. Let the kid develop.

From everything I have read, Pie has struggled at AAA, and wasn't tearing up AA either, as has been said he is not ranked that highly these days. I think we might as well hold onto him because I don't think we could get that much for hiim, but in general I'm not sure if he'll ever make it (or he'll become amazing once he leaves, which would be a shade obvious).
I'm not opposed to trading him though, if we need to throw him in to get a quality pitcher (or cf) then do it, this team is for now, Pie is a (big) maybe.

For God sakes the kid is only 21 years old. Give him a chance to grow.

Exactly... All the alk about a centerfielder, we have one a couple years away. He's had some struggles, but he's a talent. Unless he's packaged to bring in a big asset, let hm develop.

My argument exactly. I'm only 21, too. Which means.. in a couple of years, I think that I could be Big League material, too. Anyone want my autograph? I sold one on e-bay a few years ago for .50, but I think my price will go up a bit now that I'm closer to fame.

Honest to God. .50. Kind of pissed me off at first, but hey, .50 is .50, right?
