I took my seven year old son to a restaurant tonight. He was wearing his Cubs jersey. Some guy came up to our table and started razzing him about being a Cubs fan. Although I wanted to jump up and knock this guys lights out, I sat back to see how my son would handle the situation. The guy was saying "You know, kid, it's not too late to root for a real team, like the Cardinals! You know, they are the World Champions?". My son ignored him. "You realize it has been 100 years since the Cubs won a world series championship, don't you? and what does that make this year, 101?" My son continued to ignore him. "So, I can't get you to consider to root for the Cardinals?" My son wouldn't even look at him. The guy finally got the hint and left him alone. My son looked at me and said in such and adult sounding voice... "Mom, I REALLY hate Cardinal fans!". I've never been so proud of my little guy!

Let's see, 7 yr old vs. Cardinals fan. Yup... your son had the advantage there.

Thank God I haven't had to deal with too many Cardinals fans. It's bad enough I had the hoards of Sox fans bantering me 2 years ago. And yesterday, when I wore my Soriano jersey to school, everyone in my geometry class heckled me. This one kid said Soriano was gonna get injured the first game. And of course, after getting whooped their first game, they said nothing today. I know if they had won, all of them would of been in my face.

Nice to see that a 7-year-old Cubs fan is a lot more mature than a Cardinals fan. Makes me think that being a Cards fan gives one a maturity rating of only 3 years old.

Thats so cute! I would be proud too. I usually have a 3 strike rule. I ignore them the first 2, and after the 3rd I show them who's boss. With the sux being 0-2 maybe they'll all go back to their stupid homeland.
