The Cubs get a lefty who can start but I hope gets used in the pen. It seems that Piniella has some influence on Hendry and signings this year. 07 hear we come

I like this signing. Hopefully he can go back to his '05 form.

agreed, he would be great for the bullpen if that could happen

We wouldn't use Cotts as a starter if we keep him, would we?

Unfortunately he grew up a Cardinals fan. I hope he isn't going to sabatoge the Cubs.

now that we got soriano, he will probably be a 5th starter.

I figure get one more starter, and hope that Prior is healthy at the start of the season, and if not, get Cotts to be the 5th starter, and maybe bring up Marshall to go in the bullpen and get some more major league experience.

we'll get atleast 2 starters and Prior is an after thought Hendry is acting as if he doesn't exist for now and he should.

I think Cotts should be in the bullpen.
The cubs bullpen struggled last season.
The starters werent the best either but at least they have some strong potential

You can't say Cotts should be in the bullpen just yet. He could be a decent starter.

But the bullpen clearly needs help.
cubs could have 5 decent starters.
they need a reliable middle relief pitcher, possibly a setup man

The problem with our whole staff is that they rely too heavily on the strikeout. Leading the league in k's doesn't mean much if you also lead the league in walks. that is where this staff needs to change. I'm not sold on rothchild unless we start going after the hitters and using the defense behind them.

I think a great sinker ball pitcher like i dont know maybe a WESTBROOK could have a little luck here. He wont strike out 200 but he will get alot of groundouts.
