The Cardinals beat the Astros 4-2 yesterday to get their first win of the season. The Cards are 1-3 while the 'Stros are 0-4 to start the year. Nice to see these guys struggling.

We'd better savor it, because I don't think they'll stuggle this badly for the entire season. But then again, they might be just below .500 for the season.

It's a nice change, even if it doesn't last. Hopefully we can beat the Cards again more times than they beat us (I think we were 11-7 vs. them last year). I still can't believe Pittsburgh went 3-0 at first.

I like to see St. Louis and Houston struggling out of the gate. If the Cubs can get on a roll, they can create a little distance between us and them. The starting pitching is doing well, and it's good to see the offense coming around. Ramirez, who usually gets off to a slow start, is hitting the cover off the ball so far.
For the last couple of seasons, Wrigley Field has been the un-friendly confines for the home team. They need to get that fixed. They will need at least 50 wins at home in order to contend.

So far the NLC is beating each other up
If the NLC is going to be a 4-5 team race, these divisional games are absolutely crucial
