Your right he is an excellent baseball man. I just think he burned too many bridges when he left.

I've said the same thing as soon the news of the Cubs sale broke. I know that a few years back, Stoney was trying to get an investment group together to purchase the Oakland A's, but the deal fell short. I think that it would be great if Stone can make his way back to the Cubs in any capacity.

I loved Stoney. I remember growing up listening to him and Harry on WGN. I hope he gets back into the organization.

You are not wrong about Stone and the biggest bridge he burned has been replaced by another bridge, i.e. McFail is gone. Stone and McDonough are very good friends and I think even Hendry doesn't have that much pull to keep out Stone now. I would be one man against a whole company.

I think Stone knows a ton about baseball. That said, he forgot he was being paid by the Cubs so I would have let him go too. Bottom line, he is way too critical about small things (like Joe Morgan). I also would not mind him coming back. Gotta go, The Sopranos are on:D !

If Stoney puts a deal together to buy this team, you can count on us being contenders almost every year, unlike once every 5 or 6 years whic seems to be the trend. Stoney wants to win, period. Just like sweet lou and everyone else these days. They said they wanted to change the culture here and Stone owning the team will accomplish that totally when he signs the dotted line. He will always have a connection to the fans here and I think he is best suited to finally bring us to the promised land.

I have n problem with Stone, except that he likes to hear himself talk a little too much...
I could also use a little less hearing about Bob Brenly's guitar antics...
That's just me...
With the ownership change pending, and since the agreement has already been done, it would be nice to get Z's extension complete...

You do realize as the colorman that is their job. They are supposed to dig up stupid stories to tell when there isn't a lot of play-by-play action. They talk alot because they are required to keep people interested.

I'm not a big Stone fan but the man has baseball smarts.

As a person I do not like him. But he always seemed to know what the pitcher was going to throw before he threw it. He knows his baseball that is for sure. If he would help to build a winner, I am all for it. I can accept having a guy I really do not like in the front office, if it means I get to dance in the street celibrating a Cubs WS victory.

It wouldn't be bad to have Stoney back, but I don't mind Bob. Seems like him and Len have a nice thing going between them too. If Stoney can work in some other capacity to help bring a winner to the Cubs, I'm all for that. :)

I think it would be nice if someone who actually cared about the Cubs and had a history with the team owned them, like Stone. But I agree with scuba, I don't think it's a good idea to break up Bob and Len.
