The Cubs look to get back on track today after losing the home opener. Tough loss yesterday. Our bullpen (especially Howry and Eyre) needs to fix things in a hurry.
Pitching Matchup:
12 Chris Sampson (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
vs.
11 Jason Marquis (0-0, 1.50 ERA)
Sampson looks like he's trying to take a ****. Hopefully he will against the Cubs today. :D

6-3 Cubs will prevail today
Interesting note regarding Sampson. He's pitched 14 innings in his 3 starts and only yielded 1 ER...
GO CUBS!!

Not a good start to say the least. Funny how Houston couldn't do anything this season until they came to Wrigley.
Mid of 1st: Astros 3, Cubs 0

JJ batting second is a huge mistake IMO. Don't like him batting there at all.

Double play kills any threat we may have had.

Yeah Sheff, I thought the same thing yesterday too. He's not patient enough to be hitting there. Maybe Lou knows something we don't.

Nice play by Floyd on the basket catch.

The only good reason to have him there is the fact he is lefty and it gives Soriano a little advantage at stealing second. But as you said Scuba, JJ just isn't patient enough. I was against Izzy batting there but not so much anymore, he has shown great patience so far this year.

Well Lee and Ramirez have both hit safely in the first 8 games. Now if we could get Fonsie going and win some!

Lou needs to pencil Izturis into the eighth spot and Jones into the sixth and keep them there. Neither of those guys should be in front of Lee or Ramirez.

Izturis is not playing like a gold glover today! 3 freakin' errors in less than 5 innings!!!!!

What the **** is Izturis's problem? 3 errors is ridiculous. It's time Lou has a talk with Cesar and give him the day off tomorrow.

The guys did have themselves a small ninth-inning rally today, but when Murt popped up to end the game, I was wondering what Lou might say to the team afterwards. Yesterday was one thing, where the Astros just took advantage of an inconsistant strike zone after we came back from three runs down to tie it in the 7th. Today, we didn't look good at all.
