..in a Cub uniform in your lifetime as a fan.I nominate Hal Jeffcoat. He couldn't hit .250,but he could get a great jump and had a strong accurate arm.Who is your nomination?:D

In my lifetime.....or at least in my years of watching the Cubs....Sarge Jr. was fun to watch, but the best CF without a doubt is Corey Patterson.

I totally agree. I went to a game one time where he gunned two different baserunners trying to tagup and go to third. Not to mention the number of different occasions he gunned them at the plate. He had a hella strong arm and was pretty accurate. Too bad the fans wouldn't give him a chance. Apparently, nothing is ever good enough for us...

Yea i saw those games and those were some outstanding plays by an outstanding CF, next year we should shift Soriano to right and if we cant sign say Andrew Jones or Torii Hunter then we should go after Patterson.....I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to play with his little bro.

I think the is a very real likelyhood (?-sp.) that the Cubs now have one of the best, if not the best defensively capable outfielder they have ever had: Felix Pie. It is not historically (at least my nearly half century of watching) a strong point for the Cubs - the Cubs have generally gone for "bangers".
Various fans can make their arguments for C. Floyd, J. Jones (why?) and Matt Murton but what I would love see (and is theoretically possible - either free agency or trade) is Soriano in Left - Pie in Center - and Ichiro Suzuki in Right (Murton, possibly Floyd on the bench but used a lot).
I ask why not ?
Strong defensively and remarkable offensive potential . Great speed , 3 strong arms and at least 2 with exceptional insticts for the game. The line-up would take some sorting out but if I may be so bold I would suggest "Itchy" hit #2: why?
Because he probably can extremely well and he's left-handed .
Bat Pie 8 for a variety reasons.
