Guys lets get real...It doesn't matter what Lou does with this team. They are losers and will find ways to lose. It's early in the season and we already blew at least 3 loses on stupidity. I actually feel sorry for Lou, I'd be shocked if he makes it back for next season.

Somewhere Baker and Baylor or laughing....

I hate to sound down, but it's the same team and the same problems we've had for years now. It's at best a .500 team. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems like another summer of frustrations...

/rant over.

I don't think the team stinks. There are very good players on this club, and the roster on paper is one of the best in the league. The team isn't gelling. also, it seems impossible to get a clutch hit out of anyone on the club. It's still VERY early. Two weeks into the season is too early to start making those calls. Some players start slow... We're 4-7 now, but this team is capible of ripping a 8 game winning streak.

Even if we are a .500 team at best, a little over .500 should win the division. There's no real dominant team here.

It's only 11 games, but the main concern is it's the same team we've been watching for the past 4 years. Low OBP, terrible miscue's at important times of the game, spoty pen, bad baserunning, can't win at home, losing 1 run games.

There are some players *cough* Derrek Lee *cough* that are really trying to carry this team and you can tell it's frustrating when other players *cough* JACQUE "SWING AND MISS THREE TIMES IN A ROW WITH MEN ON THE CORNERS AND NO OUTS" JONES *cough* really aren't pulling their weight.

This is a good team....they just havent played that way yet, Jones does not belong anywhere near the top of the lineup untill he can learn to take some pitches. Unlike past teams i dont think Lou is gonna sit there and take the losing. The bats will warm up with the weather.

You are correct it is very early but at the same time these early games are very crucial. This team plays way to many divisional games early in the season for them to be playing the way they are. Sorry but I believe with all the division games there is no room for slow starters on this team. The Cubs have 10 days before another day off, if they plan on being contenders this year they need to win the majority of these games IMO.

I hate to admit it but all of the losses feel like nothing has changed. We are losing games much like we lost them last year. Either the starting pitching blows the game while the offense is doing just fine, or the bullpen blows it or the offense jst plain cant get the job done. Why in gods name would go up to the plate think swing at everything when all you need is contact to get the run home. Its frustrating.

That's the key to the whole situation. We have the pitcher on the ropes, and we approach the situation like we are the ones in trouble?!?!? That shows how fundamentally flawed our players are...And these are Vets!

Sloooow down guys!Cincinatti is a team thats given us fits over the past years, and most of those losses are against them. Its also unseasonably cold.Think back to ST when they were looking good. The weather might be responsible for the injurys as well.Give it time. Its a marathon not a sprint.

11 games in and people already think we're out. What ever happened to loyal fans? I'm sorry, but I'm tired of even hearing Cubs fans say that this team isn't good. Especially this early. Why does everyone think that just because it's the Cubs means they're gonna do terrible? It's a different year, and it's still extremly early. Cincinnati was just this hot last year too as I remember. They ended up 3rd in a weak division, and below .500. Also last year at the same time, the Twins were 6-6, only 1 game better then the Cubs are this year. And remember when they won the AL Central, which was a close race to win all of September last year? I'm sorry, but I just find it sad that even fans are knocking this team out of the playoffs already. Sure, they don't look amazing out of the gates. But seriously, there's still 151 games left. Have some faith.

I really think it's the first couple of weeks are more a let down because we were told in October of last year that we were going to get a winning team. They went out and built us a winning team....and we got the same results we were getting last year. We do need to remember that it is a long season, and it is all a part of the beauty of baseball. I'm just as guilty of being impatient. I waited all offseason to have them come out and just kill the ball (like they did tonight), so when they came out and played lousy ball, I had that sick feeling in my stomach that I had most of last year.

We saw tonight that this team has the makings of a great team. Great pitching, the bats came alive, heads up baserunning, and pretty good defense. Now, they need consistency.

Well I am not counting them out of the playoffs by any means but at the sametime I can't discredit anyother team from the division from making the playoffs either. This division is for anyone to take. It is very frustrating to see a team that is built with the offense this team is and they take the field and your pitching staff pitches such a great game and then what is suppose to be an offensive minded team can't put 1 run on the board. If this team plays to their potential then they very well have a chance of a great season but if they don't play to their potential I am not gonna be one to continue to say its early because before you know it you are at the All Star break with a team that is under 500 when they should be well over that. So when they play like crap I will let it be known and when they play good I have no problem rooting them on and being positive about the team.
I feel this team has played enough games through the spring and the start of the season that we shouldn't be beating ourselves and over half of the losses we have are from just that so there is reason to be concerned.

Totally agree with you holycow. That's what this team is all about-loyalty, and we can't let that slide. Every game is important, but I've really liked what I've seen the past few days (except the 1-0 loss  ). The thing that I'm ticked off at the most is Soriano getting picked off. He's gotten picked off like 4 times already, which is ridiculous. I have no problem that it might take a few weeks for his bat to warm up, but the baserunning irks me.

I'm alot like ryno4ever, all the hype during the offseason made my expectations a little on the high side so when the Cubs play lousy and our offense does not produce I start to get impatient. But I realize that we havn't even made it a month into the season yet.
