Well, is everyone boycotting the game or something? HAHA I don't blame you if you do. It is already starting out poorly. Good job in staking maddux an early lead...

Hmm, I'll be gentlemanly and ask whichever mod is quicker to delete my gamethread, being as how you posted yours about 3 seconds before i did, that'll learn me for posting a long spiel to open it.
Theriot single and SB. Love this guy!

Pheuf, just got out of that one. Miller issuing walks all over the place, but gameday DOES have the umpires strike zone as small...

We gotta hold our breath now.... Ohman on the mound

Apr 17th 2007, 5:21 pm
Can anyone explain to me why Ohman did not get sent down instead of Guzman? Guzman would be good right about now for a guy to go about 5 innings. Not to mention, I would rather have him in there than Ohman.

They wanted him to get more regular work. He is going to be a starter down there.

Beautiful. Why is it always Cedeno or Murton who are the last outs? What is that about?
I'm sooooo mad, if we'd got the tying run there, Z would have had to play left (DeRosa to 1, Theriot to 2, Jones to R), BLAST!

I was wondering how that was going to go..... although, I was thinking they would have put Marquis out there because Z is pitching tomorrow.

Lots of over aggressiveness did them in today. It seems like they were trying to hit a homer to win the game in extras. Looking for fastballs, but unfortunately fastballs up around your pectorals aren't good to hit.

Tell me if I'm crazy, but it seems like every year, our biggest killer is one run losses. How many times do we come up on the short end of the stick in games won by just one run? Sooooo frustrating.

It's seems to be all or nothing with this team, we just gotta get used to it.

I'm in total agreement. I had to leave right after the 10th inning, I was still on the road at 4:30 p.m. (6:30 Chi time)so I called a friend to see what happened and all he could mutter was "Will Ohman." I figured out from that, that they lost.

I would put the blame more on Jones' shaky defensive play.

Yeah, Pie looked real good. Let's see if he can keep playing like that for an extended period of time.
