I like Murton in left, so I'm not a big fan of getting Carlos Lee. I'm not sure who I want in CF because I think the money both Soriano and Drew want is too much. I guess I would say Schmidt, even though he probably doesn't want to come here.

Soriano and Lee....but I know that won't happen.

Drew I like but I'm scared he would get hurt.

Pitching I would like Schmidt and Lilly

You would want Lee over Murton then?

I think Lee would help us more now, but I don't want to give up on Murton yet. It was only his first full year last year. I think there's a good chance he will hit at least 20 homers this year. I just think Murton is going to be a heck of a player down the road, so I would probably pass on Lee.

I don't know if Murton will hit 20 HRs next year, but I agree with the rest of your post scuba.

I wouldn't get rid Murton. I think he would be a good player. I would like to see Jones traded if all possible and put Murton in right.

The only downfall to that outfield of Lee, Soriano, and Murton would be defense.;)

I agree. We need at least a CF and one SP, probably two. And welcome to the board. :)

Give me Soriano or give me death lol

:D :D ....The only thing that worries me about Soriano is the length of his contract, but if he can give me a chance to see the Cubbies in the WS just one of those years I'm for it....lol

I hear ya web, but one good thing about Soriano is he is a lean type of guy and is in tip top shape so I wouldn't worry too much.

I can also live with the K's if he gives us 40 HR's, 40 SB's, and 40 doubles...:D

no doubt, you know the funny thing is people who question why he is a lead off man he had way more runs then Pierre too lol. He does it all, the guy is a freak and he lead the NL in outfield assist.

Listening to you guys is starting to change my mind about Soriano. Still don't like the money side of getting him though. ;)

Yea Scuba, I started changing my mind about him after watching him play more last year.

Sometimes all you see are numbers with guys and they actually are better then what numbers indicate. (if that made any sense...lol)

Soriano's stroke reminds me of Glenallen Hill's, it's a compact swing and every homer of his he knocks the crap out of it I bet you he tags a house if he comes here.

I get he will be hittin that bud house :)

I really am glad we signed soriano. I hope we go after someone who can be a leadoff guy though. Soriano has too much power for leadoff, i could see him in the #2 spot so when he goes deep it wont be solo. He would get great stuff to hit seeing to it that ramirez and lee follow him.

DLee25
Nov 19th 2006, 8:56 pm
You can't have too much power for leadoff, no such thing :) Look who follows him :)

It's gonna either be LUGO or a SP i think. But what do i know. I wish i knew his cell number. What do you think his bill is a month?

I think we need another solid starting pitcher.
Possibly Zito.
He could be a great addition because Cubs have limited left-handed starting pitching that can be relied on.
So yeah, go after him.

He is overrated, and we will overpay him. But thats my 2 cents. I doubt we will pick him up. We will either get someone from cleveland for murton or cedeno is the rumor. but who knows

Man, I am glad we got soriano. I was joking about it with my friends all week at school, "We got soriano over night" They were all like BS! Your dumb. One got on tonight (AIM) and hadn't heard the news and didn't believe me so I gave him the link. It was quite funny. "Dude this is so awesome"
