It's a couple of hours early, but this game has just made me want to go to bed right now. It was one year ago tonight we lost Lee for most of the 2005 season......

2006 Cubs 1B Derrek Lee broke two bones in his right wrist in a collision with the Dodgers' Rafael Furcal and is expected to be in a cast up to six weeks.
The reigning NL batting champion and a two-time Gold Glove winner fractured the distal radial and distal ulna bones in a freak play during the seventh inning in Los Angeles. Furcal led off with a bunt single to the right of the mound. Reliever Scott Eyre dove for the ball and flipped it toward first base with his glove.
The ball sailed over Lee's glove as Furcal collided with him.

1980: The Cubs come storming back against the Mets to take them 12-9 at Wrigley. Ex-Met Dave Kingman hits a 2 run homer in the four rrun sixth, then adds a grand slam in a seven run eighth inning when the Mets walk Bill Buckner to get to him. Carlos Lezcano adds his second major leaguehit-both home runs-to the cause.

Hopefully we'll have a repeat of 1980 today as opposed to last year...

I always liked Dave Kingman, dispite him being on 7 teams (Cubs, Mets, Yankees, Giants, Angels, Padres, & A's). 1979 was his best year of his Cub (and entire), career. 48 HR's, 115 RBI's, .288BA. He did strike out over 130 times that year...
