Manny and the Cubs

I'm hearing more and more about the possibility of Manny in Cubbie blue. I'm not sure if I would want this. The guy is a stud, but I like the idea of seeing how Murton develops and in some ways it seems like the money would be better spent on Soriano (leadoff hitter, more steals, CF). If we lose out on Soriano, though, it might be worth a shot. Maybe we could do something like trade Jones and some other people for Manny, put Murt in right, and sign Matthews Jr. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't mind the idea, but I think it's only a plan B type situation. I would move Murton RF, I think he could handle it. Could you imagine the Ramirez and Ramirez connection, that's it I am getting a trademark on the phrase it's time for this pitcher to get some R & R time lmao.

That's not a bad plan b though. Can you imagine that 3,4,5. Just as long as he doesnt have his little tantrums i would love to see him in a cubs uniform. He would be cheaper then soriano and we could definitely go after more pitching. Remember "pitching wins games". Ramirez also would give us at least 130 rbis. What more can you ask for.

Since it might also take Izturis in a deal to get Manny, who do you guys think we should have play short? The only name that really comes to mind is Lugo, but maybe DeRosa or Theriot could play short (if not Cedeno) and the other one would play second.

Rumors today say we're going hard for Lugo so who knows. Man this rumors give me a headache lol

The only thing about going after Manny is that I don't know how good of a position it puts us in for going after Westbrook or getting some other SP. It all depends on if we get Soriano or not I think.
