Great move, now its time to get us some pitching probably via trade. Dont know if theres any money left to sign a free agent, lol. Thats ok though we have enough guys to make us some great deals.

Honestly I would say for about 80% of his tenure I supported and liked Hendry more then most, I finally lost faith in him after multiple dissapointing seasons where he foolishly relied on Prior and Wood when everybody else knew it wasn't safe. The way he has been a beast during this off-season and owned the other gm's has restored my faith in him.

I am glad we have a GM that is willing to get some players unlike that moron's that preceded him
1. Ed Lynch
2. Larry "I'm responsible for Sosa" Himes

I have been trying to tell everyone JH was not the problem. He is the one baseball guy the Trib had working for them. Andy was not good. He was there because of what his relative did , not what he did on his own. I was hoping last year J.H. would have fired Dusty and managed the team himself.
Now if he can lock down and bring in Eckstein for SS , he would be the biggest , baddest MoFo manager out there !!!

Just thought I should bump this thread by wave, seeing as how the Pimp From the Hospital did it yet again. An amazing offseason so far for Jimbo and the Cubs. And it's not over yet...:D :D :D
P.S. - Get well Jimbo! I miss you already! :p

Other than the trade with Florida for the CF (Juan Pierre) what are hendry's really bad moves ?

Signing J.Jones to such a big deal where it makes it really hard to trade him now, is one I can think of.

You can count all his bad moves on one hand probably...right now I only have one finger.

Selling Maddog last year at the deadline was a bad move. He would have been a valuable piece for our World Series this year ;)

I'll have to agree with that one. Bad move, and to me it seemed to come out of nowhere.

I think Maddux wanted out. Can't remember where I read it, but Greg knew he was heading toward the end of his career, and wanted to be closer to home, and on a team going somewhere...and the "upcoming ownership changes" weren't really set in stone until after the trade deadline last year.

Well he's done something right this year.

Overall, I really like the moves hendry has made. They may not make sense at first, but when all is said and done, he knows what he is doing and gets it done.

Just like what was discussed earlier, I think Maddux was ready to go west for the twi-light of his career. I wish that Hendry could have landed Ethier though, instead of Izturis. The Dodgers were still in it, and Maddux was huge down the stretch for them.

I found a bad move that he made.....Signing JASON MARQUIS.
