After Theriot bounced to Glavine and Izturis grounded to Wright, Soriano lifts a fly ball over Beltran's head for a double.

Glavine is able to get ahead of Ramirez, 1-2, before throwing one into the dirt outside. The 2-2 is looped to Beltran, he's unable to get to it. Soriano comes around third to score the first run of the game. Cubs up 1-0.

Murton takes a fastball on the outside corner, strike one. The 0-1 is popped to Beltran, who this time just settles under it and gets the final out.

Reyes takes the first pitch from Marquis for a strike. The 0-1 is low for a ball. Reyes lines one hard to Theriot, but it was right at him for the out.

Chavez takes a sinker for a strike. Fastball misses outside. The 1-1 is low, 2-1. Another low fastball, 3-1. Chavez grounds to Izturis for the second out.

After throwing a first pitch ball to Beltran, Marquis works it back in his favor, 1-2. He then grounds it to the second-base hole, but Theriot is there to retire the side. 1-2-3 go the Mets.

DeRosa takes one outside. The 1-0 from Glavine bounces to Lo Duca, 2-0. Another one in the dirt, 3-0. Next pitch is outside, DeRosa walks on four pitches.

First pitch to Blanco, DeRosa goes, but Blanco fouls it off. Next pitch is down Broadway to take it to 0-2. Glavine misses outside, 1-2. Blanco pops one foul, Lo Duca has trouble finding the ball, but he's able to make the catch in front of the Cub dugout for the first out.

Pagan lifts one into left field, Chavez makes a dive, but the ball lands under him. DeRosa motors over to third and Pagan hustles into second for a one-out double.

Marquis takes one well inside. Next pitch just misses low, 2-0. Marquis grounds one under the glove of Easley. One run will score, two runs will score! Cubs now up 3-0 on Marquis' two-run single.

Theriot fouls one off to the right. Another foul, same direction, 0-2. The 0-2 is in the dirt, 1-2. Glavine goes in tight, it's 2-2. Theriot lifts a low-away pitch to right field, Green over to make the catch, two down.

Izturis took a ball, then takes one on the outer half, 1-1. He pops it up, Easley and Green converge, it goes off the glove of Easley into right field. Marquis rounds third and heads home, no play, he scores. Izturis makes it to second on a double. 4-0 Cubs.

Soriano takes a ball, then rolls one down the third base line foul. He fouls one to the right-field seats, 1-2. He fouls another one low-and-away. The 1-2 is inside, it's 2-2. Soriano fights off another one just off the plate. Another foul ball, this time to Quade. Eighth pitch of the AB is in the dirt and away, full count. He hammers one into center, but Beltran is able to track it down in front of the track. Three runs on four hits, one left.

Delgado drives the first pitch to Pagan in center for the first out of the inning.

Wright takes a fastball inside for a strike. The 0-1 is high and tight, 1-1. Next pitch misses away, 2-1. Wright lines one to left, Soriano falls in front of it and traps it. Wright is held to a single.

Green takes a strike. Next pitch just misses inside, 1-1. Green checks his swing on an inside pitch, held, ball. The 2-1 is up and away. The 3-1 misses low and away for the walk. Two on with one out.

Lo Duca pops the first pitch foul, DeRosa makes an over-the-shoulder basket catch in front of the first-base-side stands.

Easley takes a slow curve low. Marquis pumps a fastball over for a strike. Easley flies to right, Murton is there to retire the side. No runs, a hit, a walk and two left.

Glavine fires a curve over for a strike against Ramirez. Ramirez then takes one outside for a ball, and in tight to make it 2-1. He pops one foul, Delgado makes the catch for the first out.

Murton takes the first pitch, high and away. He swings at one off the plate, 1-1. Glavine catches the inside corner, 1-2. Murton foul tips the next pitch into Lo Duca's glove for the strike out.

DeRosa takes a strike, then one off the plate. He then grounds one to Easley for the third out. 1-2-3 go the Cubs in the third.

Beltran takes a ball in the dirt, Blanco able to block it. The 1-0 is called a strike on the low-outside corner. Beltran fouls one to the screen, 1-2. He swings and misses on an off-speed pitch to retire the side. No runs, no hits, a walk and one left.

Blanco takes the first pitch low. Glavine bounces the 1-0. Blanco takes again outside, 3-0. Glavine throws one down the middle, Blanco takes all the way for a strike. Another called strike fills the count. An offspeed pitch is swung on and missed.

Pagan takes one off the outside corner. Glavine bounces the next pitch, 2-0. Pagan pops one off the end of the bat, Delgado squeezes it for the out.

Marquis takes a strike, then takes one away. He tops one to Easley, who throws to first for the out. 1-2-3 inning for the Cubs.

Delgado takes one outside, 1-0. He swings and misses to make it 1-1. Marquis comes inside and misses, 2-1. Another one misses inside, 3-1. Delgado fouls the 3-1 off to fill the count. The 3-2 is low for a walk.

Wright takes the first pitch in the dirt. Another one low and away, 2-0. Wright pulls one well foul. The 2-1 is low and away. Blanco comes out to talk with Marquis. Wright flies one to right field, Murton trying to track it down, but the ball squeaks over the wall for a two-run home run. The lead is cut to 4-2.

First two pitches to Green misses. The 2-0 is in the dirt. He fires a fastball over the plate, taken for a strike. Green lines it on one hop to Theriot, who throws to first for the out. One down.

First two pitches to Lo Duca are called for strikes. Off speed pitch misses, 1-2. Breaking ball is fouled off Blanco and Lo Duca. Fastball just low, 2-2. The 2-2 is bounced, full count. Grounded off the end of the bat to Theriot for the second out.

Easley pops the first pitch he sees to Theriot for the final out. But the Mets get two runs on Wright's two-run homer and a walk.

Theriot takes the first two pitches outside and low. He grounds one to Reyes for the first out.

Izturis takes a strike. He then serves one into right field, but Green is there for the out.

Soriano takes the first pitch high and away. The 1-0 is also high and away, 2-0. He swings at one low, 2-1. The 2-1 is too tight, ball three. Next pitch is in the dirt, Soriano walks.

Ramirez takes low. Glavine throws to first to keep Soriano close. Soriano goes, pitch taken for a strike, throw bounces and gets away from Reyes. Soriano safe at second.

DeRosa takes the first pitch from Glavine for a strike. Next pitch just misses the outside corner. DeRosa fouls one back, 1-2. Glavine misses inside and low, 2-2. DeRosa lobs one foul, and a fan who brought his glove makes a great catch. He fouls another one off to the right. Another one spoiled on the inside corner. The 8th pitch is bounced, full count. DeRosa lifts one high to center, Beltran there to get Glavine out of the two-out jam. Cubs leave them full.

Glavine takes a strike, and fouls one off, 0-2. Next pitch is inside. He fouls one off, still 1-2. Marquis misses low and in, and then away to fill the count. Glavine grounds to Marquis, dropped, but has enough time to get the opposing pitcher.

Chavez takes a strike at the knees. He shortens as if to bunt but takes outside. He bunts, Marquis fields the ball, running into Ramirez. The throw over to DeRosa is not in time, and Chavez runs into DeRosa. Ramirez and DeRosa need a minute to gather themselves, but they're OK.

I didn't see that Reyes flew out for the second out. Meanwhile, Beltran flies to deep right field, but Murton is able to camp under it for the final out. No runs, a hit and one left.

Blanco takes a strike, then two consecutive balls. He grounds one to Reyes, who fires to first to just get Blanco.

Pagan takes a ball low and away, and then he pops one to shallow right. Easley runs out and slides in front of Green to make the play.

Marquis takes a strike, then singles to right. He's 2-for-3 tonight.

After taking a strike and fouling the 0-1, Theriot grounds to Wright for the thrid out.

Delgado took a ball low, then swung and missed. Another misses low. The 2-1 is swung late, 2-2. Delgado pops it to left, Soriano is there, but he can't make the play. He grimaced as he bent over to try a shoestring catch. Delgado in with a single.

Wright takes one low, then takes a strike on a breaking ball. He pulls one into the hole for a single. Delgado lopes into second.

Lou has come out to pull Marquis, and Will Ohman comes in to relieve and face Green.

Green takes a high fastball for a strike at the letters. Green is 0-for-3 vs. Ohman. Another strike on the high-outside corner, but K-Zone said it was just off the plate. Green fouls one off. Another 0-2, hanging slider, fouled away. Green checked on a low slider, but the home-plate ump said he went around. There's the big strike out, and now his job's done. Rocky Cherry coming on.

Cherry will face Lo Duca. First pitch is outside, two-seamer. Lo Duca fouls one off, 1-1. Lo Duca pulls one past the third base bag. Delgado comes around to score, Wright to third, Lo Duca gets a double. It's 4-3.

Easley takes a breaking ball for a strike. Off-speed pitch, called strike, makes it 0-2. The 0-2 pitch is low and away. Pinch hitter is on deck. Easley flies one to Pagan. Wright tags up and scores. It's 4-4 now.

Newhan pinch hitting for Glavine, takes a strike and then swings and misses the second. And then he swings at a pitch in the dirt. The side is retired, and both starters now get a no decision.

Joe Smith enters the game to pitch for the Mets. Izturis takes the first pitch outside, then gets a called strike and fouls one off. The 1-2 is outside, 2-2. Next pitch is outside, full count. Izturis breaks his bat and loops one into left-center, a lead-off single.

Soriano takes a side-armed breaker away. He grounds one to Easley, he flips to Reyes for one, over to Delgado for the double play.

Ramirez fouls the first pitch, and then takes one inside. Smith side-arms one low, 2-1. Chopper to Reyes, over to first to let the fans stretch.

Reyes showed bunt, took outside. He fouls the next pitch off, 1-1. Reyes skies one to deep right-center, Pagan and Murton converge on the track. They collide, but Pagan makes the catch.

Chavez grounds a 1-0 pitch to Theriot. He tries to flip it to Izturis for him to complete the play, but Izturis can't.

Beltran takes the first two pitches low. The third is also low. Another low pitch walks him.

Lou makes another pitching change, pulling Cherry and bringing in Neal Cotts.

Julio "Generalisimo" Franco pinch hits for Heilman. Wuertz pumps a fastball over for a strike. The 0-1 bounces to Blanco, 1-1. Franco waves and misses a high fastball. He misses another fastball to strike out swinging, two down.

Reyes swings and misses the first pitch. Cutter misses, 1-1. Grounder up the middle for a base hit.
