Well if you look at this years MVP voting for the National League, I think you'll easily see how their teams record is taken into effect. I will take the most obvious candidate in the voting, Alfonso Soriano. Last season, he was the 4th player ever to get a 40-40 season, and the 1st to get a 40-40-40 season, but he only got 6th place, with no 1st place votes, no 2nd place votes, and only 1 3rd place vote. I'm not saying he should of gotten 1st place, but at least 3rd or 4th, not 6th, and I really think that if he were on a winning club, he would of gotten higher votes.

Yes, I think the voters need to take the players ability and stats into consideration more than looking at the team he is on.
Soriano should have been 3,4 in the voting.
Maybe he can snag an MVP award with the Cubs, that would be awesome!

Same thing happened to Big Z this year in the Cy Young. He only finished 5th. If the Cubs would have been a better team, he possibly could have won it.

And last year with Derrek Lee getting 3rd in the MVP rating.

Yeah, players get overlooked a lot just by team performance, and that sucks.
