The Cardinals confirmed on Wednesday morning that catcher Yadier Molina has sustained a fractured left wrist and will be out approximately four to six weeks.

I don't like when players get hurt, but there is something nice about it happening to them this year and their fans getting a taste of what we went through last year and their fans giving us grief for using the "injury" excuse.

Preach on! I'm sitting at work (in STL), and I overheard a conversation a few minutes ago from two Cards fans one aisle over from me. They had just read the news about Molina. I just thought it was hilarious when their comment was "Man! I don't even want to hear any more whining from the Yankees about how many injuries they're having this year!"

It would just be nice if the Cubs were having a good year while the cards are having these problems. :-)

Yeah, Jim, I agree. Seeing the way the division is right now, the Cubs should have a good look at it. They need to get out of whatever funk they are in though. The sad thing is, outside of Prior and Wood (which is normal), the Cubs haven't really had to deal with injuries this year so far and we still aren't playing good. Something has to give at some point...

catching getting even worse for the cards: gary bennett had to leave todays game after getting hit in the head.

i'd kinda forgotten about this guy, but todd wellemeyer is starting for the cards! say what?

O poor Cardinals....BOOHOOHOO. I feel so bad for them. How long is Carpenter out for again?

LaRussa suggested that if Bennett is unable to go today... the backup catcher will be So Taguchi!!!! He says... "he can play anything....why not?" LOL!

Please don't make me laugh.... My lips are chapped. With the Central Division such as a disaster at the present time. Look for the Cubbies to be moving on up. But as I say one day at a time.

I hate to say it, but since this thread started, the Cardinals have taken the lead over the Cubs, even WITH their injuries. DANG IT!
