It is an awesome movie from the perspective of a fan! Yeah, it shows the Bartman game...he actually tapes it from the bleachers.... but it isn't as bad as I was expecting as far as having to "re-live" that moment. I loved the "pizza for Loften" thing.... Matt sent a Lou Malnotti's pizza to the Pirates GM every week until the Pirates sent Lofton for the Cubs after C Patt went down. Matt had actually interviewed Kenny when he was with the Pirates and begged him to ask for a trade to the Cubs...and a couple of months later, Loften was in pinstripes. Great movie! I highly suggest it.

Anyone ever think of doing another remake of "Fever Pitch," but focusing it on the Cubs? We all know that the one with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore was going to have the Red Sox lose to the Yankees in the ALCS, as they did in 2003 and nearly did in 2004, but they had to reshoot the ending when the Red Sox did the miraculous comeback and eventually win the World Series. However, the original film, released in the UK in 1997, focused on the English football (as dundeecub would call it, we call it soccer) club Arsenal. In that film, Arsenal doesn't win the premiership trophy, and I think it was against ManU (Manchester United), which over there is like our Yankees.
Dundee, could you shed a little light on what I'm thinking about for us Yanks who haven't seen the UK original version?
Anyway, you guys think there's any chance of a Cubs "Fever Pitch"?

So have a Cubs-obsessed Pizza Hut manager who meets a hunk who's not into baseball?

I was afraid to watch it in the theatre for the simple fact I did know how it was going to end, and I just haven't gotten to that part of the "healing" to deal with it in public... watching the ending of Chasing October was the first time I was able to make it past the Bartman play (rewatching it).

I havent completely healed from that series. But I am getting better. Just taking longer.
As far as making another Fever Pitch..... dont think it would work. But what the heck right? We tried the Jimmy Buffett Concert thing that supposedly worked for the Beanheads.

Director: "And the casting is complete, Heather has the part!" :D
I do plan to watch the DVD this weekend in between Cubs games. :)

Makes ya kinda pumped for October! (And, yes, brings back some really horrible memories, but he believed it all the way to the end....)
