While nothing has been announced, you know its coming. Thankfully he can appeal it and have the chance to have the punishment reduced. However, when all is said and done, I am thinking that he will get a 10-game suspension, simular to what Barrett got for slugging AJ last year

I bet he gets 5-7 games. Barrett's incident was relatively unprovoked. While Lee had more reason to be upset. When evaluating the suspenson i think they need to take in account the reasons he was so upset in the first place. Thus leading to less games than what Barrett recieved.

I JUST HOPE HE PLAYS IN DC WHEN I GO!!!!!

Would the fact that his punches didn't actually hit Young affect the suspension at all? Probably not, but just wondering.

if he gets 10 games, and its announced today or tmrw, then he shouldnt appeal because he'll still make the milwaukee series in that case. that has to be the paramount concern here, its just really bad timing

I bet they bring up the fact that he stopped on his way to first in the suspension hearing. Though Young kept coming toward him, and yelling things at him. Besides they should knock a few games off because the ump was not doing his job by remaining between them. Every time I see something like that the ump is walking up the line with the hit batter. Lee should not have hit him, but I bet Young had to say something horrendous to tick off Lee.

Plus they should also factor in all the comments made by the Padres Pitchers the day before about hitting players, because they thought Soriano was showing them up.

I don't think any of this will reduce the suspension they give him, but I hope it does. It may lead to a harsher penalty for Young if they decide to give him one. If Young does get suspended, the Padres need to fine their catcher for not getting in b/w them right away. I just hope Lee isn't gone for more than 10 games.

Pretty fair suspension I think. If any punches had landed I am sure it would have been at least 10.
