I doubt it you can't rely on he said she said, I haven't heard of it and most say they haven't. All it takes is one person to make it up and post they heard it and then it has wings and a life of it's own.

That would be incredible if it were true. Everything I've been reading is that we are going after the second-tier level of pitchers (Meche, Lilly, etc.). Could you imagine, though, if we sign Schmidt and pull off a trade to get Westbrook?
Big Z
Schmidt
Westbrook
Hill
Miller/PriorWith the way Jimbo is going, this could become reality. ;)

I could see the entire NL Central or maybe the whole NL League SHAKING in their panties right now...they're all just criticizing Big Jim and his spending spree when deep down inside they know that 2007 lineup is gonna one hell of a lineup.

I have not heard that rumor yet. I will believe when I see it and a trustable link. but it would be a nice addition to our rotation. We just need atleast one more after him.

That would be awesome.
But Scuba, im curious as to why you dont have wood in your rotation?

First off, if your that much of an idiot to start wood next year. You should know better my friend. He just came off of shoulder surgery.

I have heard and read that wood has rehabbed very well and is throwing well at winter ball as well.
It would not suprise me if they threw him in the #5 slot in the rotation, especially if the cubs dont pick up another pitcher.
He still has 5 months to recover, and if he didnt think his shoulder would be ready for the season, then he wouldnt be pitching now

I will almost bet you, he wont be in the #5 spot.
Wood isn't throwing in any winter leagues.
Our best bet would be a middle relief pitcher or closer, i think he can succeed there.

Well let's just go out and sign 1 or 2 above average starters.
then it will be an easy decision.

Lol, we will get some started via trade or FA's.
But there is not gonna be a decision to make.

I think the Red Sox paid wayyyyy to much for him
I personally do not want him, i wouldn't mind him but hes too expensive. Plus hes young.
You can't say hes gonna be domination quite yet. I mean he was playing in a Japanese league for cryin out loud

If you ever watch the LLWS, Japans mechanics and fundamentals blow out all of the US Teams.
Zamby38
Nov 21st 2006, 6:08 pm
how the hell did you bring in LLWS.
pretty sure they dont enter the MLB when they are 12.
thats why they play in the japanese leagues so that they CAN develope mechanics and fundamentals.

I brought it in because we were talking about Ichiro, he isn't a very big guy, but his fundamentals are very good. Except I am a little bit weary about his batting, very interesting but he gets the job done.

His batting?
he only has the major league record for hits in a season, and rarely strikes out.
Has a .300 average or better ever year and gets on base then steals more.
Yeah, that would cause me to be a little weary about his batting too!
