Here it is November and we are guessing how many game we will win and how much better we are than the World Series Champs we have to be nuts. This morning I have been reading all this then , it hit me. You all know the feeling the Cubs parinoia . In my lifetime the Cubs had a way of breaking your heart not once but three times a season. I hope not for one of those years. Nov = crazy excitement can't lose:D /April = slow start some injuries ,ARG !! it is lost :eek: / June = win streak/ :p come back ,,,,, you all know the program . I am promising myself to hold down my excitement. BTW. I am not a big fan of Lou , I don't know if he is the right guy for this team.

No, we're not nuts we are Cubs fans. Each and every offseason I look forward to the next year to be "the year". Am I excited about the additions the Cubs have done so far? Yes of course. Do I hold my breath for it to be "the year" No, because like you said they have broken my heart many times than I care to count. As for Lou..All I can say is its alot better than Jim Riggleman...lol

We can still predict and have hope.
Our lineup has improved ALREADY this offseason and it's not even close to april yet. If the cubs do struggle, we are used to it, so no change.
But I expect big in '07

No, we are not nuts, we have just been waiting since last April, when Lee went down and our won-lost record went into the tank, for something to get excited about. Well, it is here in the name of Soriano and the signing of A-Ram, and any others that we come up with. things are looking up again, but I too will not hold my breath.:)

By the All-star break we are usually miserable. We usually peak around the Cubs convention. We have to enjoy what we can. I think we are going in the right direction for the first time in a while.

I'm with you. Yes Hendry has made some stellar moves so far but as we know, 162 is a long season and we dont have much in the way of starting pitching yet. The old saying is true, Pitching wins championships. Plus, we need to stop predicting things period. Good or bad. When we fall into that trap bad things happen. Quit listening to sportswriters who will predict this and predict that. Those aholes dont know anymore than the rest of us.

I don't think Lou is the wrong guy for this team. It's a team that wants to win, a city that wants to win, and Lou is a manager who wants to win, and knows how to win. I think he's definetly the right guy for us. Would you rather have Dusty back?

To be honest, I think the terms 'Cubs Fan' and 'nuts' are somewhat synonymous. At the beginning of every year, I think "Next Year" has finally arrived, and even if the Cubs are out of contention by July more often than not, I still won't stop thinking that way. I'd say that is somewhat "nuts." However, its impossible to say the Cubs haven't made serious strides in the right direction over the past couple weeks.

You can't blame us for getting jumpy. None of us knows what our team winning a World Series is like, unless someone on this board is 100 years old. We want it so badly, and honestly, I think anyone who was rooting for a team that did this much in the offseason would be saying it.

We have a really strong team as well.

Our lineup should be awesome *a little heavy righthanded wise tho* and the only weak link in our batting order would be Izturis at short. Maybe DeRosa. Only time will tell.

People keep saying that Izturis going to be traded to Boston so we will see if we got Cesar, Ronny, or Julio at short next year. Either way, scoring runs should NOT BE A PROBLEM.
