I just watched Aramis talk at a press conference on TV, and he said he never wanted to leave the Cubs, because he feels he has a lot to prove after almost winning it in '03, and that he was really excited about the Soriano deal. And Hendry said that signing Ramirez was important to showing that the Cubs can win it next year, and one of the reasons Soriano decided to join the Cubs.

So if ARam coming back to the Cubs was already getting people interested in the Cubs, just imagine how interested some people are now with Soriano?

To me, one player can do alot with a team. But I still think DLee will be the leader of this team if he is healthy. Soriano might do alot, but what about Lou Piniella? He is the one that got Soriano interested in the Cubs, and hendry.

Aramis is right. The cubs do have something to prove after choking in '03.
And the lineup they will have this year is more potent than the one in '03.

Hell, this team has something to prove after having the worst record in the NL. Good for ARam though, I like his attitude. Now get it done.

I think the press conference was a smart move for Aramis and he said some smart things. I think he's very sincere about having something to prove and his loyalty to the fans. He has mentioned on more than one occasion how amazed he is that so many fans attend Wrigley Field for every game.

I also believe that his staying in Chicago had a lot to do with Soriano signing. I think JH and Lou would've had a tough time getting players of Soriano's caliber had Aramis left for the Angels or another team. I also think it will really show what ARam is capable of, hitting in a lineup with DLee and Soriano and maybe one more big bat. Much better than last year when he was for the most part the only big hitter in the lineup.

Yeah, he said that when he found out about Soriano, he "jumped up and down" which means he probably pulled his groin again.. ha

Its nice to see ARam stay i town. He always said he wanted to be a Cub for life. I personally glad to see we have an actual 3rd baseman for more one year than the infamous Who's playing 3rd?? question we all seemed to ask for years.

Could you even imagine him tearing up the cubs if he moved to another NL team?
We should just be glad he loves the city of chicago and all the AWESOME FANS!

Haha I read that little story, or whatever you want to call it.
It was in one of our language textbooks.

I like the post about Lee being the team leader. Did anyone read the thread on the Cubs board last night about who was the "Franchise" (SP) player on the cubs. this thread went on for over 150 posts, mostly namecalling and other gradeschool (I'm right and your wrong) type of stuff. What a joke.
My opinion is that lee is a team leader. Will he lead the team in offense? I don't care just as long as someone leads them to the postseason.
