I've been hearing quite a lot about this lately. This is an article from the Sun Times by Mariotti. He's basically speculating that this flurry of off season activity might be an attempt to make the club a more attractive purchase.

I'm not a big Mariotti fan, but for the most part, I do agree with him here.

I hate Mariotti as well but I like his thinking. I wish the Trib would sell.

It seems to me that the Trib's train of thought is that they don't care if they put a winning team on the field as long as they make money but after this year they realized how angry Cub's fans have become.
