Good game tonight. Were picking up games faster that I thought.

This is what I saw coming. I didn't listen to all the analyst that tried putting the Cubs away earlier. I knew there was more to them than what they were showing us. I don't see Zambrano going anywhere despite what some "experts" might think. The Brewers really did run away and hide didn't they ESPN (cough, cough, STEVE PHILLIPS cough, cough.....)

And onto the Pirates, who, yeah, are playing good, but we won't get their top pitchers...who we need to thank for putting the Brew Crew away for us.

Great post Z. Steve Phillips reminds me of someone talking just for the sake of talking (and no one cares what he says!!). Yeah the Brewers are falling fast. For all I know, we could be a few back at the ASB. Theres quite a few people who think the Brewers are real, I am not one of them. They have improved a bit in the rotation but no nearly enough.

I think Steve's problem is he thinks he's right about everything because he was the GM of the Mets once and they went to the World Series under him. News flash Stevie......your wrong about this.

Just think, guys, if we can sweep the Buccos and the Natty Nats can sweep the Brewhas, we'd be just 1 1/2 games back at the ASB. Heck, we'd be within AK-47 range rather than sniper range.

I'd say the best we're lookin at is probably 2 1/2 back.

Any improvement would be nice, but as hot as the Pirates are right now and as bad as the Nats seem to be I would be happy just to stay at 4.5. I think the worst the Brewers will do is win 2 of 3.

The team has been playing well. I hope it is a sign of how they will play the second half. The pen has done a pretty decent job of late, i hope they keep it up.

Games against the Brewers will be very very important.

We only play them 3 more. They are at Wrigley though.

Well said. This current Cubs team has a winning attitude and thats something Cubs fans don't see to often, and it can only help. Better than the mopey, losing attitude of just about every Cubs team of the last 99 years;) .

Plus we have not gained anything on the Cards. Keep an eye on them . They may not catch up but they are getting healed and they can always be a spoiler for either us or the brew crew. Lke me,you are a realist. We wont sweep the Pirates and the Brewers should have an excellent chance to sweep the Nats.Yes,I will be quite happy if we are only 4 1/2 back after this weekend.
