I would like to know who the reliever was...:)

Report: Yankees reject Orioles' offer for Sheff

The Orioles reportedly offered Kris Benson and a reliever to the Yankees for Gary Sheffield and were turned down.
Ignoring that they'd be adding another player who has been the subject of steroid allegations (and for good reason), the Orioles shouldn't be rebuilding around 38-year-old corner outfielders. It's like they've learned absolutely nothing. According to the New York Post, the Astros, Padres, Rangers, Indians and Tigers have shown the strongest interest in Sheffield. The Phillies didn't get a mention. Nov. 4 - 11:09 am et

Yeah, I would like to know who the reliever was too. Sheffield should bring some good offers. I actually wouldn't mind him playing for the Cubs just because of the numbers he brings, but it's hard to ignore the 38 years old thing and the other stuff.

I wouldn't be opposed to gettin him if just for a year or two to see if it'll help bring us a WS...

I would only want him if he replaced Jones. I don't want Sheff and Jones in the same outfield.

the thing is though is that the Yanks would probably want pitching, so unless we trade Jones for some pitching and then trade that pitching for Sheffield, I don't see that happening. i wouldn't mind seeing Sheff over Jones though either, even though he is old!

The Cubs need pitching too, so I don't see them trading pitching for a good hitter. This is why I don't think these rumors are true.
