Dang, I was hoping we would miss this guy. I saw where he pitched Sunday so that pretty much told me we would see him. I can never recall doing well vs this guy. Imagine if he pitched against us 10-15 years ago when the grass was kept really high. The Dbacks are a solid team. I was surprised that the Brewers took 3 of 4 from them. They are like all the teams in the West- they have trouble scoring but they do have pretty solid pitching with some absolute octane coming out of the pen.

They were talking about this on ESPN 1000 tonight, and the one guy brought up that the Cubs are facing Webb tomorrow, even though they have lost 8 of 9 on the road so far. Levine made the comment that the way the cubs are playing right now, it doesn't matter who they face, they are finding ways to win! I love to hear all of these sportswriters who wrote the Cubs off in early May all of a sudden saying that this is the Cubs year!

I knew he hadnt pitched that well of late. I was actually surprised when he made the all star team. But for some reason he seems to have our number, just like Capuano.

Its really hard to elevate the ball against him. I mean they call Marquis a sinker ball pitcher, JUST LIKE THEY CALL Webb. Thats like comparing Eyre to Billy Wagner. They are nowhere close. I remember one time in Arizona we did not have a flyball out until the seventh against this guy. Z is a good sinker ball pitcher and the same rules usually apply to him. When he has his bad games he usually gets hit early , unless of course he walks the park.

It's supposed to be abnormally chilly at Wrigley tomorrow and there is a very good chance the wind is going to be blowing in off the lake, so any flyballs are highly unlikely anyway.

I don't expect any anyways.

Yeah. We don't need to hit the big blast to win. Heck, the Cubs gave up three homers, two to Bar-roid, and still won. They just need to dink and dump, perform death by 1,000 paper cuts.
