Cubs: Marshall could use a few runs. In his four losses this year, the Cubs have combined to score three runs while he was in the game. The lefty lost his last outing on July 22 to the Diamondbacks, giving up one run on five hits over six innings. The Cubs were blanked, 3-0. It was his eighth quality start in 11 starts this season.


Reds: Harang continued to quietly add to his outstanding season on Monday against the Brewers. Harang pitched 10 innings against Milwaukee, giving up only one earned run on seven hits with 10 strikeouts to take a no-decision in the 2-1 Reds win. Harang was the first National League pitcher since Mark Mulder, in April of 2005, to throw 10 complete innings in one game.

Intersting stat....the cubs have allowed the opposing lead off hitters get on base 14 out of the last 26 innings pitched, where the Cubs have only done so 3 in the last 27!

DeRosa is cleanup tonight as Ram gets the night off. Murton was to start in right, but he was just scratched and Floyd is in there now. Theriot is in the 2 hole, Fontenot is at second tonight.

I'm wondering if something isn't going down trade wise, because Murton was to be starting in right and was JUST scratched from the lineup with no explanation as to why.
