He says if the cubs need him at 2b he will be willing.
But he says that he will work on OF positions.

I wonder if the Cubs will let him play winterball.. ...I still think he'll end up somewhere in the outfield.

As much as Cubs are paying him he better be willing to play any position.

I can see it now, we will give him permission and he will get hurt and end up on the d L for seven years.

At leats he's willing to play there. I hope he doesn't make a big deal if we ask him to play there for a few games maybe, but who knows.

I'd be very surprised if he's seen at 2B. We're already stacked there and he's pretty much sucked there his whole career whereas he made a noticeable improvement the second half in LF. I don't want him playing winter ball because of the possibility of an injury. I'll volunteer to hit him flyballs to shag if he thinks he needs additional work :D

Just say no Lou. In fact let Fonz stay at your house until the season begins.

It shouldn't matter why he wants to play, what should matter is that he just signed a huge contract and shouldn't put himself in a spot to get injured. Maybe he should think about just doing regular workouts through the off season and forget about winter ball.
