I don't think anything will happen until Jim finds out what he can trade for at the winter meetings.

I hope we sign Meche, I think it could be like what happend to Arroyo coming from the AL last year. Hes got a good fastball and curveball to work with. When are the winter meetings?? mid December or early?

I saw that. I think we should go after him, but we probably won't end up getting him. :(

If we did get him, which we wont then other teams would have to worry about pitching more than us. LOL

I'd rather see us go after Manny than Lugo. :)

Manny would be a solid pickup, but what would we have to give up to get him?

I'm not big on Lugo either, especially for the OF.

I do think there will be some good moves made over the next couple weeks... There's still money in the budget and Jim's been aggressive...

I'm hoping we get 3 starters. Meche, Lilly and Supan would be good. We need some guys behind Z that can pitch 200+ innings

Five arms, 3 legs, a ball signed by Ron Santo, JH's leftover turkey, and Carlos Zambrano.

Well, other than Big Z, I'm all for that one! ;) :D

I hope Jimbo at least signs one pitcher before heading to the meetings next week.

As far as Manny goes....don't tease me...:D :D

Adam Eaton is said to have signed for 24 million/ 3 years with Philly. Watch the price for pitchers go up now.

I just saw that... Eaton is making Kris Benson money... Whoever picks up Zito and Schmidt is going to have to lay out some serious lettuce...

Yeah newt, Eaton isn't that great, so it will be interesting to see what happens now. The salaries this year are getting a little out of control.

And gem, haven't talked to you in a while....did you have some Jack for me during the Bears game?! ;) :D :D

Yes Scuba, the Cubs were being criticized for paying so much for Soriano, I think this will have a big impact on the rest of the SP signings.

I agree newt. And did you guys hear that Matsuzaka wants $15mil/yr and the Red Sox are only offering $8mil/yr? $15mil/yr??? The guy hasn't even thrown a pitch over here and Boras is trying to get him that much. Unbelievable. If you're the Sox, say no, and get your money back. I'm pretty sure you can improve your club with the $50 million it was or whatever just to negotiate with this guy. At this rate, by the time I'm 60, guys will be making $100mil/yr or something. :p

LOL...no jack yesterday but I did put a few Budweisers away...:)

Looks like the market for 2nd tier pitchers will be 8-11 mill range...

I'm not all that big on Lilly, but I like Padilla. After the Eaton contract, he's going to get paid...

The way it looks now is we will have to wait for the winter meetings to see another move.
