I liked that JH said that Lou and Sori hit it off from the start. I like how JH introduced him as our new leadoff hitter.;)

Yeah, so does zamby too. IDK the whole team? Wow, it's 2 players, maybe he is happy to see both of them come back. I am sure him and zamby talk on a regular basis now.

I think you may have missed my point, What I was saying is that I was caught by surprise that he mentioned Wood and Prior, Which Scuba pointed out above as being good in 03, (but have been on the DL since then) it wasn't a matter of mentioning certain people that are on certtain levels in the clubhouse but that he mentioned the pitching staff and he chose to mention Wood and Prior and not Zambrano

He's getting 136 million. I mean seriously, I think he could get a real diamond, lol.

But yea, I missed it because it was at 3, and I was just getting out of school, so I didn't catch it.

the only way I would want lugo is if it makes iztouris, not jacque "expendable."

Yea I'm not a big fan of Izturis. The only reason I don't make a big deal about it is because we now have enough bats to be able to deal with a half decent hitter.


I really hated it though when everyone wanted him as a hitter in the #2 spot, which is just ridiculous. His carreer average is like .250 or something. Making him #2 would be a terrible idea.

I'm not sure what I think about Lugo. I think $8-10mil is alot, but its not my money. Plays a decent short stop and I think he is a career .340 obp. If tihs is legit, it likely means a trade for a pitcher is coming, which is nice.

As for center, I wouldn't mind a Lofton like player for a year or so.

I personally don't think we need any outfielders.. I think that we've got three stellar outfielders.. and while none of them are cf's, necessarily, I think that we can jimmy them around.. I think murton is young enough that he's going to be pliable and able to learn a new position. he's got average enough speed that I think he can cover the ground. I think soriano in left, murton in center, and jones in right would be downright sexy.

I like all three guys as well. I just don't think we want to mess around. Murton is still learning left field. I think he is gonna break out into a nice offensive year showing some power that we haven't seen before. He does have decent speed but not necessarily center field speed. Jones is having enough of an issue bringing the ball in from right field -let alone center field. Soriano is an option but I would rather not see him as a constant experiment with a new position. A guy like lofton would be a short term fix- to make room for Pie when/if he is ready. He also would look nice at the top of the lineup. OBP .360 i think last year.
