I was wondering what everyone's favorite year being a Cubs fan was? I think mine had to be 1984, because the Cubs came out of nowhere to win the NL East. I remember spending that whole season in my grandfather's garage watching the Cubbies. Just a damn shame they couldn't bring it home. Steve Garvey

I'm with you there. The '84 Cubs were great and well balanced. My dad at season tix for the Mets that year, and whenever we'd go to see them play the Cubs I'd put on my mesh Cubs hat, and he'd tell me "When are you gonna put on a real hat?" He still asks me that question...

Ditto ' 84
That was an amazing fun filled year up to the end.
When they failed at the end , I gave up and stopped watching baseball for almost 20 years LOL
Can you believe that ? Man , I was ticked. The stupid things you do when you are young. In '89 I was in Boston and could have went to Fenway and didn't , damn what a mistake , stupid , stupid , stupid

I was only 4 in 1984, so I can't really relate to that year. Mine would have to be 2003. It obviously ended badly, but going through that entire year, seeing Wood and Prior actually pitch the way they're capable of, all the hype surrounding "what would Dusty bring to the Cubs?", the great moves Jimbo made in the second half, winning the division, and the ride in the playoffs that I will never forget, it was just incredible. I've never been so excited as I was thinking about the Cubs chances of being in the World Series, and never been so devastated when they blew it those last couple games. But I wouldn't change a thing. It was the most amazing ride I've taken as a fan, and really shed light on just how much I care about this team. And it will make it all the more sweeter when we finally do make it to the WS and win the whole damn thing!! :D :D :D

I've really only paid attention to the Cubs for 1 season. I'm a young Cub's fan, and I'm not gonna say that was my favorite season.
