First pitch by Lilly is fouled away...84 degerees, hot and humad...wind is still. Ball one is high and outside. Third pitch is fouled off by Furcal.....another one fouled down the left field line...another one fouled off behind the plate...ANOTHER one fouled down the third base line....good at bat here.... hit hard right to Cedeno...who throws it to Lee. One out.

Sep 5th 2007, 7:15 pm
Ex Cub Juan Pierre.....takes ball one low and in.... ball two in just about the same place, count is 2-0....Pierre looks at strike one across the middle of the plate. Pierre foul tips strike two...Pierre lifts it foul and out of play right behind the tarp.... Pierre has a double into the gap in center field.....
1 out
no score

Sep 5th 2007, 7:19 pm
Matt kemp steps to the plate, as Lilly tries to pick Pierre off second...Lilly throws a strike, as Pierre stole third base, his 55th of the year.... Soto didn't have a chance with Lilly's slow approach to the plate..... Kemp fouls one off.... Lilly follows up with ball one. Next pitch is a little high.... count even at 2 with one out....the next pitch is fouled straight back....ball three is low....full count...Lilly has thrown a lot of pitches this inning already and still only one away....TWO AWAY as Kemp strikes out. The Cubs now have sole possession of first for strikeouts this season

Jeff Kent, who LOVES lefties, gets a breaking ball for strike one....he hits a fly ball to center.... Monroe has it and Pierre is stranded at third base. No Score!

If we can pull this one off....the Brewers are off tomorrow...it looks as if the Cards are gonna get pushed back another game (which is good for next Monday).... THEN if we can win tomorrow, we will have a full game lead over the Brewers again. tomorrow, I do believe, will be the last extremely challenging game for awhile.
Mara...please don't keel over! I want to be able to celebrate a World Series with ya! :)
Okay, that gives me hope to HANG ON!!! Us celebrating (in Chicago) would be unbelievable!

I'm gonna go crazy this weekend. My cousin is getting married in Indiana, and we are going to have to go away for the weekend. Thank goodness I invested in laptop...it WILL be going with me...so I am just hoping my hotel room has wireless internet access. The wedding is right during the game! I asked my dad if we could sneak in a little radio into the church!

A missed sign.... I would think that all signs are different for different teams, and there are lots of signs in baseball. Being new, I can see how Monroe can miss a sign.

I have found little earbud FM radios, but usually don't have AM radio on there. It is in South Bend, which does get WGN.... but I don't know if there are any FM stations that will carry the game.

Do you have the Go Cubs Go song? I actually have an alarm clock on my computer, and you can pick any mp3 on your computer to play for the alarm part. I have Go Cubs Go, and the other morning, it went off, and I actually incorporated the song into my dream of being at a game...and got up a little late!
