Did not see the game (of course) and did not listen tonight but just went over the box and it sure looks like a fine performance from young Mr Hill. it would really mean a lot if he's ready to get back pitching like he can. Perfect timing ! We need him
I also notice that Dempsters line is none too impressive once again. Sure, he got another save; but 1 inning pitched: 2 hits, a walk, zero Ks and a run (a tidy 9.00 ERA). He's still a major menace in my book.
The relief still needs major work before 2008 - but that is so true of so many teams every year. Can you imagine how far ahead this team would be if the relief squad had pitched 2007 like they did 2006 ? I think we'd be 7 or 8 games ahead. Or more.
But back to the subject: when Hil is good he's good.
Oh well. At least the Turd Birds lost their 6th (heh, heh) and the Brewers lost . Good race but driving me nuts (and that's a short trip).

Skullkey...if you didn't watch or listen to the game, consider yourself so lucky! It was a definate heartstopper! Beyond nailbiter! Almost sickening!

I had to vote for Rich, King of the Hill. He set the tone for the whole game. I'm happy for him, he deserved to have a great outing. :)
Don't EVEN say 'Ryan Dempster' to me!

Gotta go with Cliff.
His triple was the hardest ball I have ever seen hit.

It's gotta be Jason Kendall for executing the perfect hit and run on a lousy pitch. It led to the 2-0 lead, and it was a thing a beauty...perfect execution....something we have NOT seen lately from our pitchers trying to lay down bunts. :(

Dempster and I am not kidding . That double play at the end was not an accident. Judging by the way he got to the mound , he pitched him a ground ball and was expecting a play. With him hustling to cover the bag , he made that play. There are only 4 pitchers on our staff with enough awareness to make a play as such , that would be Howry , Wood , Marquies and , Dempster.

The first hit Lee went to play the hop and it hit first base and bounced into right... coulda been an out, the triple was legit pie tried to cut it off... but the walk didnt hurt i believe dempster was trying to work around him and without the walk than there is no double play...
dempster isn't always amazing but he gets the job done adn that is the important thing
