1.The 1984 division clincher in Pittsburg, Sutt getting his 16th win on a 2 hitter.
2. 2003 division clincher.
3. Frank Castillo's almost no hitter against the Cardinals
4. Cubs sweep of the Sox in 2004

Todd Walker's game winning Superman slide across home plate against the A's a couple of years ago!

The 2003 Clincher (double header) is up there on my list as well.... In 2006? Michael Barrett's Grand Slam against the Cardinals back in April. Not to mention his right hook to AJ's face...priceless!

I loved that Barret grand slam. I was going nuts. Almost as nuts as I was when they signed Soriano.

I live across the street from my parents. I had the windows opened that night, and when Barrett hit the Grand Slam, my mom called me and told me she could hear me all the way across the street! I remember it being pretty late when the game got over and I was supposed to be up early for work in the morning, but I was too excited to sleep!

It,s hard to come up with one moment in almost 40 years of being a diehard
Cub fan. But,if I had to chose one,it would have to be being in the seats at Wrigley Field on May 12 1970,to watch "Mr. Cub",Ernie Banks hit his 500th
Homer off Pat Jarvis of the Braves. There were less than 6000 fans in the stands,on a cool rainy day.A day I will always remember.

Getting to see 3 Cub pitchers throw 4 no hitters in 4 seasons on t.v.[WGN]
was pretty cool too!!!

Oh,making the playoffs in 1984,1989,1998,and 2003,were of course very special. But all ended in heartbreak.

What happened in the playoffs against the Marlins in 2003,would rank as my worst moment as a Cub fan.
Even,more painful than 1969 and 1984,which I didn't dream possible!!

That was really great. Not only was it against the Cards (Isringhausen HAHA) but it was on ESPN. Good series when you see people going to the game with brooms!!!:D

This isn't my favorite, but it sure did make me laugh so hard I almost fell outta my chair, but remember that game, where Barret was at 3rd, and he kept rubbing his crotch, and the commentators thought he pulled something sliding into third, when it was obvious the whole time that his cup was annoying him? I remember they got the camera on him right as he pulled the cup out and gave it to Chris Spier. It was hilarious.

Whew, boy, where to start? The Barrett GS against the cards has to be at the top. (Was at that game and lost my voice yelling SWEEP! SWEEP! SWEEP!) Neifi's game winning GS at Busch last year (Was at that game too! Got to rub it in to all the cards fans) The Pennant clincher in 89, Harry's call was priceless. He was so happy. My first game at Wrigley when I was a kid. We beat the Dodgers 2-1, god it was beautiful. Is it wrong to consider going to Wrigley the same as going to church?

Wrigley is not just a ballpark,it is the Vatican of baseball.
I guess that makes Uncle Lou the Pope.
He's gonna look funny in his Cub uniform wearing that big "tooth" hat.
POPE LOU the 1st.

Sad thing is, I bet there is more praying done at Wrigley Field than in all of the Churches in Chicago put together! "God, please let them win.... God, please don't let him be hurt, again..... God, please take this one out of the ballpark...etc."

Kerry Wood's 20 K game

and for some reason Glenallen Hill hitting a home run onto the top of the Brixenivy apartment building.

Yea that was pretty sweet. I mean, no one's ever gotten one up there. I'm still waiting for the scoreboard to get hit. That would be pretty amazing.

As long as it was a Cub that did it...not someone like Barry Bondroids.

from cubs.com:

no batted ball has ever hit the centerfield scoreboard ... two baseballs barely missed - a homer hit onto Sheffield Avenue (right-center) by Bill Nicholson in 1948, and one hit by Roberto Clemente onto Waveland Avenue (left-center) in 1959.

Does anyone know the exact distance from home plate to the scoreboard? It would prolly take someone with crazy power like a Sexson or JD Drew.

I think it's over 500ft, but I'm not sure. It's kinda high up too.

When the Cubs got in the playoffs in 2003, I jumped on a plane for Chicago from my home just miles from the 1984 debacle at Qualcomm (then Jack Murphy) Stadium. I had no thought of actually seeing a game in person; I just wanted to be in the city to soak up the atmosphere.

My brother-in-law surprised me by getting tickets to a rooftop gathering across from right field for game 3 versus the Braves. What a night! Prior pitched a complete game and everyone partied like we'd won the whole darn thing. Imagine what it would be like if we did!

No doubt, SanCub. And I will be right in the middle of it when it does happen. Wouldn't miss it for the world. 2007 anyone?? :D :D

I can't even imagine what it would be like.... I watched the '03 Division Clincher the other night...and you could feel the electricity coming through the TV with each pitch.... not a soul sitting in the seats....the streets around Wrigley filling up with people..... gosh, it would be simply the best feeling in the whole world!

I've already decided.. when the cubbies win it all, I'm taking a weeks vacation.. and I'm going to be in chicago.. hanging from light posts and throwing bricks through white sox fans windshields. Now, I'm not saying that I endorse crime and lawlessness, but I think exceptions need to be made. And I'm already looking for my flac jacket and gas mask to save me from the po-po.

Hey Brutus do me a favor and do some research on Illinois Laws and Bail and figure up the bond amount and we may be able to start a fund for you now..;)

Does anyone else remember in April of 2004 when Sexson (then with the Diamondbacks) hit his 200th homerun against the Cubs right through the neck on his picture on the Jumbotron, which was estimated over 500 feet...then, ended up on the DL in the next couple of days with a tear in his shoulder???? Had that homer taken place at Wrigley, it would have had a good chance of hitting the scoreboard.

Keep in mind...he'll be in Chicago...the Mayor HATES the Cubs, if he has anything to do with it, Brutus will get a life sentence without the possiblity of parole!

Thats alright.. I'd take one for the team.. besides, when the cubs win, the world will end.. so what if I spend a few hours in lockdown? Hey, Scuba- you get those shirts made, and maybe I'll get us some national converage as the riot police are beating me with billy clubs!

I've always thought the same thing about that homerun..and also the one JD Drew hit against us in st. louis, though i'm not sure of the date.

That was a Super Sweet moment! What was better...I was watching it with a Cardinals fan that we had a bet on the series...He lost the bet due to Neifi's grand slam and had to wear my Cubs jersey to a game we went to a month later!
