I've never really been a big fan of these two, they just seem so vanilla after the legend of Harry and his grandson after that. (who I actually warmed up to after a few seasons). I was just wondering what your thoughts were. (This is with the understanding that the solution is to turn down the TV and turn on Pat and Ron. The radio doesnt work where the TV sits.)

Len sounds funny when they hit a home run, which I always laugh at. It's not bad, but then again, I wasn't aroun too much in the Harray Carray era. But have you ever watched a Sox game? Those anouncers are soooooooo BORING! Even when the do that, "You can put it on the board, YES!" thing, they still say it in the same monotone voice and I really hate it.

I saw Len and Bob in San Diego 2 years ago. I yelled out, "Hey look, its Bill Cowher." Len gave me an evil eye. Maybe they're an item. It seemed funny at the time although I might have been drunk. Speaking of which..... time to party. Save my seat

I like Bob and Len. In early 2005 they were kinda bad but they got better. 2006 I think was pretty good. Im not a big fan of how some do the games (brewers) but Bob and Len have gotten much better. Why all the hate?

Wow. Calling them Bob and Len doesn't seem to work. I don't know that I've ever heard anyone call them anything other than Len and Bob. I suppose it doesn't make that big of a difference. It's just hard to say. Like saying that I'm going to my parents house, I say "Mom and Dad's." Never "Dad and Mom's."

I didn't care to much for them at first but they grew on me. HolyCow!25 is right about Hawk and DJ, that He Gone and Put it on the Board crap makes my skin crawl.

That's why I liked the fact the last couple of years the Crosstown Series has been shown on both WGN and Comcast, so Sox fans can tune into the Sox broadcast to listen to Hawk and DJ and everyone else who has good taste in broadcasters can tune to the Cubs broadcast and listen to Len and Bob. Of course, if all else fails, there's still Pat and Ron on the radio.

Its based only on status!! Bob goes first for me! Really though its the most inconsequential thing EVER discussed. ANYONE HERE SEE "THE DEPARTED"? BEST MOVIE IN YEARS!!! rofl

I have grown to like them. Bob is a pretty good color man, he is a smart man. I didn't like Joe Carter when he was doing the color. I loved listening to Chip Caray. But Harry and Steve will always be in my heart.
I remembered hearing that they offered the job to Matt Vasgersian (sp?) before they hired Len. I think the Padres wouldn't let him out of his contract. I would love to have him as our announcer, he is one of my faves.
If Bob leaves, I would like Stoney to come back and if he doesn't, get Gracie in there. I know a lot of Cub fans don't like him now, but he is a great guy.

Yea, Matt's in MLB 06 The Show, which I play on my PS2 so much that the disk is starting to crap out on me a lot. He's got a nice voice. And when the screen's loading sometimes it shows facts about the different announcers they have in the game, and I'm pretty sure it's him that said Wrigley is his favorite ballpark. I'll check next time I play.

Your right about Vangersain he did list Wrigley being the best atmosphere for a baseball game in MLB O6 I play it all the time, Which I have the Cubs stomping the rest of the division by 21 games...lol. Naa Len and Bob are not my favorite Cub announcers not by far, but oh well thats why I got the radio near by. Oh and the comments about Hawk and DJ I couldn't agree more you can put on the board (together) YES! God I hate that homerun call! but you can tell when the Sox are losing, you don't hear Hawk at all.

I can't listen to the radio and watch the game.. the difference in time irritates the hell out of me.. "strike three, he's gone." (on tv, big z is just releasing the ball.) And as for Hawk and DJ, they say it together because I'm convinced they're gay lovers.
