:) the year was 1984, my wife snd i went to see the cubs play the giants on a hot summer day in chicago. We were sitting in the upper deck and the cubs had been hiting the ball like crazy that day for some reason. I had just turned to my wife and said that i bet sandberg would hit a HR today, (matthews, dernier, durham ) had already hit one out. I t was the 7 th inning and the buses were getting parked outside the fences and sandberg came up and little behold he hit one out, as he was circling the bases we heard a huge crash, it seems the ball he hit out also, hit one of buses window and shattered the window.

September 15th, 2004. When my son and I stepped off the El, I called my mom and told her to turn on the game as it was going to be a high scoring game because the flags were whipping straight out of the park. Sure enough, I was right. In the bottom of the first inning, Barrett, Lee, and Sosa went back to back to back homers. The Pirates did their own scoring and came back to take the lead. Nefi came up to save the day when he hit a homer to bring the Cubs back into the lead in the fifth inning. Sosa came up in the 7th inning with the bases loaded, my son, then 4 years old, stands up and yells, "Come on Sammy, hit me a Grand Smacker"...and he did. A Grand Slam! To this day, he believes that Sammy heard him and hit it just for him. LOL. The Cubs did end up winning the game 13-5.

Another story... July 1st, 2004. Cubs vs. Astros. My dad and I had pretty bad seats in the very upper deck...the very last row...the very far right field corner. Newly acquired Carlos Beltran for the Stros hits a home run from each side of the plate..... :(. Kerry Wood was on the mound for the Cubs that day. It was a back and forth score all day. Tied going into the ninth inning, I told my dad I had always wanted to be at a game that went into extra innings. I got my wish, but not for long. The bottom of the tenth inning, Sammy comes up to the plate as the first batter of the inning... the first pitch was a fastball that ended up outside the park in a matterr of seconds. Wrigley Field erupted as if we had just won game seven of the world series! It was absolutely amazing. That is what being a Cub fan is all about.
