Okay, offseason is here, so I have more time to dedicate to this.

1989 - Minutes before Game 3 of the World Series between Oakland and San Francisco, an earthquake hit the Bay area. The game was postponed and the Series resumed 11 days later.

Happy Birthday to ex Cub John Mabry.

2005 The juiced Minute Maid Park crowd, anticipating the Astros first National League crown after the first two batters are retired, is ‘pulperized’ as Albert Pujols hits a two out three-run ninth inning homer . A two-strike single stroked by David Eckstein and a walk worked out by Jim Emmonds set the stage for the Cardinals dramatic 5-4 comeback.
(Lidge has been said to have never been the same since, and also has been said that the ball Pujols hit off him hasn't landed yet! LOL)

2006 Lou Pinella is hired as the Cubs new manager

I saw that piece about the earthquake in 89 on Fox News last night. I was watching the pre-game live when it hit. The Cubs were out there just a few days before. I know the Cubs lost, but Mark Grace and Will Clark put on quite a show in that series.
