Jose Ceda, 20, enters his third season with the Cubs after being acquired from San Diego June 31, 2006 in exchange for Todd Walker and cash considerations. He held opponents hitless in his final 23.1 innings pitched (15 appearances) for Single-A Peoria in 2007. Between Mesa and Peoria last season, he posted a .099 batting average against (16-for-162).
I remember when we traded for him....I knew he was one of the Pads better prospects but those numbers are just sick.....

In a small way, it makes giving up Marshall and gallegher a little easier.

He is still kind of raw
You can probably call him effectively wild at this point.

I saw him pitch..... pretty nasty stuff. Some in Peoria were comparing him to a Lee Smith of the future.

Yeah, but at the time, I felt as if Hendry stole my heart away and gave it away to San Diego.... a part of me is still a little sad about it (I was a HUGE TW fan.... and only a year later, he is completely out of baseball.... how sad.) But, yeah, Ceda has some nasty stuff!

Lol, i remember the Walker, Texas Ranger thread on cubs.com when Todd was hitting close to .400 at the start of 06: good times.

TW could hit, not with much power, but he could hit. Too bad for him he couldn't do much of anything else.
