I jsut got an email from the Cubs. Here is what it said

As a member of the Chicago Cubs Season Ticket Holder Waiting List, we appreciate your patience and loyalty. Once again we have experienced record-high Season Ticket renewal responses. This has resulted in minimal movement in the Season Ticket Waiting List.

As a valued member of our fan base, we would like to extend to you an exclusive offer to purchase a brand new nine (9) game ticket pack before tickets go on sale to the general public. The Starting 9 Ticket Pack will provide you with an opportunity to select and purchase nine (9) home games from a variety of home game choices.

Policies and Procedures for the Starting 9 Ticket Presale:
As a member of the Season Ticket Holder Waiting List, you are being sent this private presale e-mail as a reward for your fan loyalty. We are offering this to you as an exclusive limited-time opportunity. On Monday, January 28th, we will be offering this opportunity to the public. The Starting 9 Ticket Pack is not considered a Season Ticket package and does not include any Season Ticket benefits such as postseason ticket purchase privileges.

There will be a six (6) ticket per game limit per customer. You must purchase all nine (9) games in the pack. There will be no partial sales. There will be no refunds or exchanges once the Starting 9 Ticket Pack has been purchased. The Chicago Cubs reserve the right to limit the purchase of tickets from The Starting 9 Ticket Pack based on game availability.

I bolded the important date for those who are not signed up for the season ticket wait list, and for those on the wait list who didnt get the oppertunity email. My mom is also on the list, and she said she didnt get it. So I guess this is my lucky day.

What a way to go into the weekend!!!!

They must have selected people on the list randomly. Last year I got a couple of offers for rainout tickets because I was on the list but that's about it.

Especially when you think about what a couple of those games would cost if you couldn't buy them directly from the Cubs.

Some of the tickets weren't great (you need to take 2 april games, 2 may, 1 premium evening, one premium something else.....) but they are face plus a service fee of only $3 per date. I got 6 tix (bleachers) for my 9 dates and it was a little under 2K. While the thought of taking a day off of work to catch a freezing weekday 1:20 game in April isn't the best, it's a wonderful way to not pay 200% for tix.

Here is the link (didn't see it earlier) anyone can buy, they are still up now:

wel ofcourse, they had to do it that way. Otherwise everyone would pick all the Sox dates, and all other hard to get tickets. They had to mix in some of the potential less popular games.

I actually found mine yesterday in my home email. By the time I went on there was not much left other than terrace reserved. I think my favorite seats in wrigley have to be upper deck box, but then again those were gone too.
