There is a new feature now available to fogpog users: the Gallery. The Gallery can be located in the navigation bar at the top of any page and will replace the Fan Map section (which was rarely used).
The Gallery is a place to share great images you have with other members. It is broken down into 5 main categories and allows you to:
- Upload images in either .gif, .jpg. or .png format.
- Give images unique titles and descriptions.
- Comment on images.
- Rate images.
- Search for images uploaded by specific members.
The Gallery also provides direct links to your images that can be shared with others you know. You will also notice that now under the Post Count there is a Gallery Count showing the number of images uploaded by that member and a link to their Gallery page (if they have uploaded any images to the Gallery). In addition, now when you visit a member's profile, there will be a random sampling of images that user has uploaded to the Gallery.
Currently, there is no limit on the size of the images you upload, but there is a limit of 100 images allowed for each member. These limits can be changed at any time if more space is needed or abuse of the Gallery occurs. The Gallery is also only available to registered members at this time to help combat abuse of this section (much the same way the Arcade is setup now).
Another thing you will want to keep in mind is that ONLY ONE name can be used for a Gallery image. For example, if someone has already loaded an image named 'Harry.jpg', another image with that same name cannot be uploaded. Unfortunately, this is how the system is setup and it can be frustrating at times, but shouldn't be a huge problem.
This new feature to fogpog has been long overdue, but I believe we have finally found a good image resource for fogpoggers to use. I hope you all enjoy the Gallery and if you have any questions, please post them in this thread. Have fun! :D
NOTE: Please be aware that fogpog is not responsible for any of the images posted through the Gallery. If you wish to have your images protected, include a watermark on them and always make sure you have backups of them prior to uploading.
