Sean can be that lefty long releiver. Didn't he earn it last year. This kid is the real deal and I predict he will be starting by the end of the year beating out the dinasours when they fall off do to age and injury.

With Eyre on the DL, I'm sure Marshall will get the nod to take his place.

HeyHey, with all due respect, allow me to use your favorite phrase, slightly changed
They know what they are doing, and they know more then you

Lou said that if he can show he can handle it (in his outing today and probably tomorrow) the job is his. Perhaps, then, when Eyre is ready to come back, the team will be a little more settled in with the individual roles and they can maybe keep Sean on board

Marshall just needs to be patient. The Cubs will need his services somewhere during this season. He is too valuable to just give up via trade. His time will come.

marshall is no doubt in my mind good for this team... but like murton... where do you put him? i dont think he is suited to eb a left specialist... he needs to START...

i still don't think they will give up Pie in any sort of deal as we really didn't have a true backup centerfielder.

Marshall got jack squat for run support last season, why does everyone forget that? Marshall is a good pitcher, I just hope Lou can find a spot for him.

Interesting note that they read at one point last year. out of his however many losses (i forget what it was at that time) but he barely had 1 run per game support if that in each of those losses

I agree. Marshall is a soft tossing LH, not the ideal Loogy the Cubs need out of the BP. Personally, I would send Marshall to Iowa & the rotation & Pignatello to Chicago as our loogy.
