Well it's Friday the 28th of march 2008. The full regular season begins in just a few days and there are just 2 or so Spring Training games left. Maybe it's OK to see how a hotly debated prospect has this spring. After all - according to some - he just didn't have what it takes.
As it turns, regardless of how he does in the regular season Felix Pie's spring will probably look to future fans as "He tore it up that spring".
Conveniently Mr Foot has some almost unnaturally round numbers at this point starting with an even 60 ABs; a number conveniently converted to 600 (typical for a full season). If he repeats this spring (not likely but) he will produce:
600 ABs
210 Hits, good for a .350 AVE scoring ...
140 runs from ...
20 HRs and ...
40 2Bs and ...
10 3Bs with a ...
.400 OBP from ...
50 BBs and ...
140 Ks. (get this down under 100.) with ...
80 RBI's (a number dependent on line-up position and teammates.)
Pretty impressive. "Tearing it up" qualifies.
20 HR & 40 2Bs and 10 3Bs (330 Total Bases) give a SLG of .550. Very impressive. Superstar numbers all in all.
He also would have 30 SBs with 10 CS (75%) - acceptable , not high quality IMO.
For all the worries his 2008 spring was nothing to complain about. By the way - if he goes 0 for 8 to end the spring he still finishes about .308.
Nicely done Mr Foot !
Let the criticisms begin.
