So, do you think we all can petition Cotts to cut his hair? That white (sox) trash look is so not going to work with the Cubs.

yeah, that looks pretty bad. I'll give him dirty looks and I'll hold a sign that says "Cut That Hair!"

Ooh, hey better yet we can all wear a "Cott's Mullett" when he pitches. It won't be as cool as the "Clement Goat", but you know, whatever works!

haha.. yeah, that'd be pretty sweet.

I don't think we'll have to petition or anything. I think the Cubs have regulations about hair and definitely more class than that team we got Cotts from. The "White Sox trash look" won't cut it in the Cubs dugout!

Bonds!! JK, seriously though apparently the cards have interest in him and thats scary. Other signings? No idea, we'll see who we get for Bynum, and we got more money from the supplemental draft so who knows what JH has up his sleeve now.

I find it outrageous that eg. the Yankees and Cubs have rules about appearance. It's completely unnecessary. I mean, look at Johnny Damon: with hair and beard he was cool, but now he looks like he was made out of wax (and/or auditioned for Clark & Lois).

We defo don't have rules about white trash stubble: Todd Walker was the God of the 5 o'clock shadow.

(and until very recently, I had pretty much that hair...)

I heard we are going hard after Suppan since Meche is out of the picture. I like it. I think he is solid for a 3 or 4 starter....as is Lily.

the cubs dont have any appearance rules.....unless Sweet Lou will implement something.

Im not a fan of the appearance rules either. Look at the A's of the 70's, they looked like the epitomy of trailer trash and yet got the job done. Granted the sox looked like scumbags but they won. If you look like a dirtball and win, you're not trashy, you're colorful!

exactly, couldnt have said it any better. sounds like something Crash Davis would say. that was one of my fave things about Todd Walker

the difference is that walker had that "rugged manly look" as my girlfriend would call it...and she doesn't even like facial hair. I think I lost her support of the Cubs when we traded Walker...

That reminds me of a quote I saw. I think it was in SI magazine, but wherever it was, it had a picture of him on the Red Sox, and then one of him on the Yankees that said, "Johnny Damon, From Neanderthal to Nerd"

I'm not a big fan of the whole appearence thing. It reminds me too much of a litlle catholic grade school, which is a place I unfortunatly had to attend. Horray for public high schools!

How could you not like French Stewart! I mean c'mon, his first name's French, it's something that should appeal to all Americans!

First of all during his press conference, Ted Lilly seemed to have the personality of a door knob. But, I reminded myself, 'He doesn't need to be Mr. Congeniality, he just needs to know how to pitch.' Second, I don't know why, but I'm partial to the clean cut look for baseball players. They are looked at as heroes and they set an example for a lot of kids. Also, I'm a female and I like to look at clean cut players (but I did like Todd's 5 o'clock shadow)!;)

True, he did seem to jsut kinda stare blankly and have no personality. But as long as he can pitch.

Darryl Ward looks like he may have been visiting Lilly prior to his pic, he can hardly open his eyes. Marquis looks like he needed to follow in there footsteps cause his eyes look like full moons.

Marquis looks like a guy that just got pinched with a dime bag in his pocket after smoking a doobie. Now he's trying to look sober by over-compensating and opening his eyes to wide and tilting his head/neck to the side. But he definitely shared some with Ward, who now has the giggles and is dying for a Twinkie and some Doritos. :D

I miss White Castles and Steak N Shake, being in Vegas I rarely go to Missouri or Illinois so when I do get them I stock up lol. I remember one time I bought 40 white castles and took them on a plane and brought back home with me lmao. The frozens one's just aren't the same :(

We have Steak-n-Shake here in Iowa, but not White Castle. We do, however, have Culver's.
