Class A Peoria manager Ryne Sandberg was ejected from his third game Thursday after he got into an argument with Clinton LumberKings manager Mike Micucci.
Cubs' minor league director Oneri Fleita said, contrary to reports, that Sandberg was not physical during the in-game spat. The two managers apparently did bump each other after Clinton bunted while ahead 7-0.
"It was verbal, nothing more," said Fleita, who talked to several people, including Sandberg. "It's not a big deal to me. Defending his players is what a manager is supposed to do."
He's on pace to chase after Bobby Cox's record! LOL!
