Rumors are kind of resurfacing about a cubs/Rox deal involving jennings, all of it on crappy local Colorado sports radio, during there breaks of waxing idiotic about Cutler v. Plummer.
What does everyone think of Jones/Howry/low level prospect for Jennings?
I like it. But I really like Jennings.

I have always said I wasn't in favor of giving up jones but I also look at it that it will either be Jones or Murton and in that case I would like to keep Murton. Its no secret that we will have to give one of them up for pitching so be it. If this deal happens I am not sure that I will be able to comment until I see what side of Jennings we get. The nice thing that goes with this is that we have great depth in the pen and this guy eats up innings so it could possibly be a great move. On the other hand if all those innings catch up to him it could be a downfall so I find it hard to comment one way or the other.

we cant afford to give up howry....his arm would be too valuable to replace, espeacially if dempster struggles

absolutely. The pen was one of our few strengths last year and howry was one of the keys. trading jones or murton for jennings I can live with, but no way do we give up howry. Solid bullpen arms are tough to come by.

Jones and Marmol?
interesting, not sure how willing they will be to deal an SP for another. I'd buy it though.

I would give up Cotts instead of Howry. Plus, Cotts can either start or relieve, so that might be a more attractive option depending on what the Rockies want.

He can be his own reliever, what more can you ask for.

they wont give up Marmol that easily, he's right up there with Hill

I can see that scenario working, that would also allow us to keep Ohman......it would be nice to finally keep a good homegrown reliever.

How about Jones/Marshall....or is that to much?

Lefties are hard to come by so i think if it was for a pitcher it would be a righty just because we have some many to chose from. Marshall has some tremendous stuff and just remember he came up from AA. Give him a couple years and he is going to be awesome.

I would give up Howry, purely because I know what Jennings is able to do. However it may be a bit pricey, especially knowing that O'dowd can be bamboozled into less.

now that the Astros are the primary candidates for him I would really double the efforts.

Howry is a proven pitcher in a very good pen. I do not trade this guy. Howry and or Murton or Jones for Jennings is a big NO!

now that i think about it, jones and any of our young arms is too much. pagan and marmol i think is more attractive to us. all of a sudden we have a surplus in starting pitching which is a luxury most teams can only dream about. if they want one of our pitchers they have to pay for him. besides im still not very high on trading SP for SP plus one.

I would love to see jennings play for us instead of marquis.
