Going back to last year and the last 162 games the Cubs are 96-66. That was the best record in baseball last year.

Need to continue the dominance of the NL West and have a good road trip.

In all my Cubbie Blue life (25 Seasons) I don't think I have seen such a balanced team all 25 guys are clicking, having one goal in mind, and for the 1st time in a very long time I can say with a smile on my face I do believe this is the year!! this winning thing is great I can get used to it..lol.

It is the best I have ever seen a Cubs team play. I dont want to knock our record in any way because to me a win is a win- but we have really taken advantage of the West and The Pirates. That is 24 of our wins I think. The thing is the Padres and Dbacks usually give us a ton of trouble and we are 7-1 vs them as of now. Its still early and we cant afford to have injuries to our big guns.

On paper I still think the 2004 team after August 1st looked like the best.

Starters- Wood , Prior, Z, Clement, Maddux- if healthy that staff was about as good as it gets

C- Barrett
1b-Lee
2b- Walker/ Grudz
SS- Nomar
3b- Rammy
LF- Alou
CF- Cpatt
RF- Sosa

I still cant figure out how we managed to screw that one up.

This team has a chance to be the best team in my life time. However, the 84' team was very good. They lost to an inferior Padres team, but would have had a tough time beating that Tigers team in the WS.
